Internal Conflict
People should be brave and take risks
In the play, Romeo and Juliet, two families, The Capulets and The Montagues are rivaling families. Romeo, a Montague, and Juliet, a Capulet meet at a party and instantly fall in love. These two teenagers will take major risks in order to be together and love each other. They will need to be brave to overcome the obstacles of their love in order to live a happy life together. In this play, Juliet has to overcome many obstacles with her family and Romeo just to be with him. She has many mixed feelings and confusions about this and it will take her to her last breath.
Act 3, Scene 5
Juliet thinking about Romeo, "Wilt thou be gone?" It is not yet hear day. It is the nightingtale, and not the lark, that pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear. Nightly she sings on yond pomergranate tree. Believe me love, it was the nightingtale." (1062 l.1-5). Juliet is speaking to herself, because she is not sure when Romeo should leave. Juliet was brave and let Romeo stay the night, knowing if the were caught together she would be disowned by her family.
Act 1, Scene 5
Juliet arriving from the party, "My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me that i must love a loathed enemy." (1018 l.154-157). Juliet is speaking to the nurse about the party that night, and how she met a lovely young man named Romeo. Juliet had a great time at the party and met Romeo. They instantly fell in love, but this could be a problem considering their families are enemies and their love together is a huge risk.
Act 2, Scene 2
Juliet's love for Romeo is described many ways, "My true loves passion. Therefore pardon me, and not impute this yielding to light love, which the dark night hath so discovered. " (1026 l,113-115). Juliet is speaking to Romeo about her feelings of love towards him. Juliet knows speaking to Romeo will be difficult because they are not supposed to be around each other, and she is brave to talk to him outside her house and open up to him.
Act 2, Scene 5
Juliet, curious about what Romeo has said about marriage, "No, no, but all this did I know before. What say he of our marriage? What of that? (1034 l.49-50). The nurse has just arrived to Juliet after speaking with Romeo about their marriage. Juliet is nervous and worried what Romeo has said to the nurse about their marriage.
