Third Grade News
The third graders have been busy synergizing making state posters for their Spring Concert. First, each student and their partner researched their state's information and fun facts. They decided together what information to use and how to design each poster. The 4th and 5th graders are also working on their own state posters. The 3rd through 5th graders will be singing a song about the fifty states and these posters will be displayed at the concert. We would love to see you at the concert and we hope you enjoy looking at the posters.

ISTEP
Some of the 8th graders went into the middle school classrooms on April 10, and did a presentation for ISTEP. ISTEP stands for Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention. The members of ISTEP are Rachel Knepper, Kelli Shmitz, Aubrey Nie, Jake Lindquist, Kash Frost, and Cael Ortner. They talked about how vaping and tobacco are dangerous for your body. Tobacco can damage your lungs and other organs such as your brain and almost your whole body. 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to be in ISTEP. If they choose to be in ISTEP they meet twice a month and plan different things such as dodgeball where students have to answer a question about tobacco education to get back in the game.

Blanket Donation Drive
Fifth grade is working on a service learning project to help Cedar Bend Humane Society. We are asking that you bring blankets in on the 22nd-26th of April. We ask that the blankets do not have zippers, buttons, duvets, crochet, ribbon or stuffing of any kind because the animals could choke on extra accessories. We want flat, old blankets. Please don’t bring in towels. Thank you for your help.
