The Bulldog Communicator
Preparing Students For Success In A Changing World
Principal's Corner
Greetings Pease Families!
My name is Kathleen Cuevas and I am your new principal at E. M. Pease Middle School. Your administrators, teachers, and staff at E. M. Pease MS are eagerly awaiting your return at the start of the 2020-2021 school year on August 24th. We know that we are starting virtually but we will be back together better than ever! You may be experiencing a wealth of emotions as time draws near but rest assured we will get through this. It is an unprecedented time in education but I have no doubt that we will rise to the occasion at Pease. We have solid plans in place to provide cleanliness, safety, and social emotional support for all students and staff. We will practice social distancing, wear our masks, and maintain frequent cleaning schedules throughout the building. We will extend grace to our fellow Bulldogs as they process their feelings and experiences through this changing time.
Everyone’s safety is at the forefront of our decision-making and we will continue to be thoughtful with our procedures. Northside ISD is asking every family to decide how they would like their children educated be it in person or virtually this coming year. Please complete the survey by August 16, 2020. Northside is also providing weekly updates to families and we will also share updated information across our social media accounts. https://backtoschool.nisd.net/
My thoughts are with each student, family, and staff member that make up the Pease community. Whether it is virtually or in-person, we are all in this together.
Virtually side by side,
Kathleen Cuevas

Caring Counselors
Hope you all found time in the summer to do things that were new, fun, safe and relaxing. As school approaches 20-21, there will be many unfamiliar experiences: new routines, schedules, and guidelines. Especially for students, it’s going to be challenging at best to adjust to wearing masks for extended periods.
Parents can help by getting their kids used to wearing masks for increasing intervals even before school begins.
It will be particularly important for educators to share their own feelings when wearing the masks in the first few weeks of school. When we share our worries and questions, we can relate to our students in creating a safe, open space for them to express their concerns and worries.
Connections and trust will be our priorities for our Pease Bulldogs!
Be on the lookout for our Back to School Virtual theme Week!
Your counselors are ready to meet with you virtually. Please fill out the Google request form to meet with your counselor.
