A Little About Mrs. Buckels
I am so excited to be joining the Patriot family! I would like to take this opportunity to share a little bit about myself.
I have been in education for 28 years. I spent 20 years in the classroom before becoming an administrator. I spent 3 years as an assistant principal at North Pointe Elementary and 1 year at Whitcomb Elementary. I was then fortunate enough to go back to North Pointe as a principal for the last 4 years.
My husband and I have four children. Leanne is a pediatric nurse in Dallas, Laynee will be a senior at Texas A&M majoring in communications, Lauren will be a sophomore at Texas State majoring in education and Cameron will be a sophomore at Texas Tech majoring in chemical engineering. I enjoy traveling, reading and my job!
My priority as a principal is to ensure that all Parr students receive the best education possible. Our challenge is to embrace the future of the 21st century and support our students so that they grow to become our future leaders. Parr Elementary has excellent teachers with strong instructional skills and a depth of knowledge that serves the students well. I am excited to join the Patriot family as we work and grow together.
My door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to learn how we can share in your child’s educational journey.
Go Patriots!

Change of Transportation
Reminder, please note that any transportation changes during the school day should be in the form of a written note signed by the parent and/or guardian. If faxing your note to the office, please include student and teacher name, date, and change of transportation with a copy of your driver’s license. The school fax number is 281-284-4105. All transportation changes must be in the office by 2:30 p.m. so we can inform the teacher in time for dismissal. Thank you for your diligence in this matter. *Please note-if calling the school to change transportation, you must be able to fax in your request in writing with a copy of your photo ID. No calls about change in transportation will be allowed unless accompanied with this note. This allows us to ensure that safety procedures are followed and students’ whereabouts are closely monitored.
Attendance Matters
What to do if your child is absent
This information is help clarify some attendance questions and give you helpful information regarding our state’s mandatory attendance policies.
Excused/Unexcused Absences –
When your child is absent, you must provide a written, signed note within three (3) days of returning to school that includes the following information:
· Name of student
· Reason & date(s) the child was absent
· Parent’s signature
The Texas Education Code requires a written, signed note as phone calls and emails are not accepted. If a note is not received within three (3) days, the absence may not be excused. If a student has three (3) or more unexcused absences the parent will receive a truancy warning letter. Five (5) or more consecutive absences due to illness require a doctor’s excuse when returning to school.
Medical Appointments during school –
If your child attends a medical appointment during the school day and then comes to school after his/her appointment, please bring a note from the doctor’s office so your child’s attendance can be marked as “Medical” which will not count as a state absence.
Daily Attendance –
Students arriving after 10:00am are counted absent for the day, unless they arrive with a doctor’s note dated for a visit that day.
Tardy –
If a student arrives after 8:10 am, they will be counted tardy. If a student misses consistent instruction time by being tardy or checked out early, this information is sent to our attendance officer.
Unusual Causes of Absence (Ex: Vacations or Family Events) –
A “Request for Excused Absence for Unusual Causes” form may be picked up from the front office, signed and returned two (2) weeks prior to the absence to excuse unusual causes such as vacations or family events.
Additional attendance information can be found in the Student Handbook or on the district website at www.ccisd.net.

Clear Creek ISD has implemented a new online volunteer application form for parents and community members, which now requires volunteers to register on an annual basis. As of July 15, all volunteer records have been deactivated, and effective July 16, both former and prospective volunteers must apply/reapply using CCISD’s new volunteer application to be eligible for upcoming volunteer opportunities in the 2019-2020 school year. It can take up to 3-4 days to be approved. If you think you may be volunteering this year, go ahead and take care of applying. We appreciate all our volunteers!
