BARK Updates
Staff vs. Students Basketball Game - Parents Needed
The Staff vs. Students Basketball Game is ALMOST HERE! We are looking for parent volunteers to help out with extra class coverage during the event. If you are willing and able to be at Ordean from 1:30-3:00 PM on Friday 3/22, please email Ms. Paschen @ Kristin.paschen@isd709.org. I will add you to the list and provide you with more details. We would love to have you there!
Donations Needed
We have seen an outstanding increase in the number of students following the 3 C's of chromebook care and we are so proud of the way many of our students have stepped up to protect this investment. While we are thrilled for this, we are still seeing a group of students who are refusing to follow these requirements. We would like to continue recognizing those who are doing the right thing, but in order to do so, we need to make sure our BARK store is stocked! If you are able to send in extra snacks or cash donations, we would certainly appreciate it. We will keep reinforcing our BARK expectations and the 3 Cs and we hope you can join with us to do the same. Thank you so much!
8th Grade Twins Game Field Trip Reminder
This is a reminder to all 8th graders interested in attending the Twins Game field trip on May 30th. Permission slips need to be returned to WIN teachers ASAP so we get accurate counts. Families, please remind your 8th graders to get their slips turned in. Thank you!
Request for Additional Outdoor Equipment
Attention OEMS families! We are in need of 4 standard sized soccer balls and 3 volleyballs for students to use during outdoor time during the lunch period. If you are willing and able to make a donation of one of these pieces of equipment, we would greatly appreciate it! Please bring donations to the front office, c/o Dean of Students.
Thank you so much for considering!
Yearbook Reminder

Receiving a yearbook is a fun and exciting time for students. However, Ordean has many students who cannot afford to buy their own. If you have the means to purchase a yearbook to a student in need, we know they would be very grateful! To donate a yearbook, when you fill out the form, under first name, simply put "Scholarship" in that box.
We cannot thank you enough for your support and kindness! Please reach ou to Ms. Lussier or Ms. Anderson with questions:

Let's meet Payton Anderson, Social Studies Teacher
Describe your role at OEMS
I am a 6th and 7th grade social studies teacher as well as a part of yearbook and garden crew.
What do you like to do when you are not at school?
When not at school I love to be outside, I am trying to go to all the state parks in Minnesota. I also enjoy going to concerts (over 30 so far)
We follow BARK principles at OEMS. BARK stands for Be kind, Act responsibly, Respect others, and Keep safe. Which is your favorite BARK principle?
My favorite BARK principle has to be respect others. By respecting others you are also showing kindness so itโs a two in one situation.
What advice do you have for middle school students to help them be awesome humans?
Always be sure to try your best. Itโs okay if you get a B instead of an A as long as you give it your all.
Tell us a joke.
Why do ducks have feathers?
To cover their butt quacks
