Enrolling into the Virtual Academy
Registration for the NLRSD Virtual Academy is taking place right now.
Developed during the 2020-2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Virtual Academy offers self-motivated students the opportunity to get a high-quality education online, and it can be done from anywhere.
The NLRSD Virtual Academy uses the Pearson platform, which comes with teachers and staff that are available to support students as they navigate the online curriculum.
We invite you to check out the video below, which features Corbin Pitts, an aspiring entertainer, who has been enrolled in the Virtual Academy since its inception. He discusses how the Virtual Academy allows him the flexibility to learn while being fully immersed in the film industry.
Night of Honors 2024
We are still over the moon after Night of Honors, which is the district's signature event to recognize Building-Level Teachers of the Year and Classified Employees of the Year.
Christon McClure, an English Multi-Classroom Lead Teacher at the North Little Rock Middle School - Sixth Grade Campus, has been named the 2024 North Little Rock School District Teacher of the Year. McClure received a jaw-dropping crystal award, a laptop, a basket of NLRSD paraphernalia, and a $1,000 check from the Bobby Gosser Family.

School Bus Driver Appreciation Week
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the North Little Rock School District observed School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. While the Transportation Department provided a drive thru for lunch along with gift raffles, many schools individually acknowledged their bus drivers by personally giving small tokens of appreciation upon their arrival Tuesday.
School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is observed annually on the fourth Tuesday in April. This day of appreciation originated in California quickly spreading to other states. Whether rain or shine, early morning or late afternoons, school bus drivers are there providing a crucial service that often goes unnoticed. Acknowledging our District's bus drivers is a well-deserved tribute to all of the men and women who devote their lives to ensuring the safe and timely pick up and drop off of all students.
In addition to School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, the Transportation showed appreciation to the school bus aides, mechanics and office staff throughout this week.
