Balancing Equation

How and Why to balance equations
When balancing equation you must make sure the subscripts are written correctly. Doing this by making sure the charges of the elements in the compound are equal. After that, if nessacary add coefficients to make the number of elements and compounds equal. Why you need to make sure the equations are balanced is because matter cannot be created nor destroyed. If an equation is not balanced in a lab, it can totally throw off your answers when using it.
Synthesis: two elements forming into one compound
A + B ---> AB | 4Fe + 3O2 --> 2Fe2O3Decomposition: when one compound turns into two elements.
AB ---> A + B | CdCO3 --> CdO + CO2
Combustion: When a compound of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen form into CO2 and H2O
CxHx + O2---> CO2 + H2O | C2H4O2 + O2 --> 2CO2 + 2H2O
