A message from the Beech Grove High School Guidance Counselors:
A special note for 8th Grade Parents . . .
After school today, Thursday, January 22, the High School counselors will be stationed in the BGMS Media Center until 5:30 PM to answer any questions you may have about your current 8th graders' upcoming 9th grade school year. Please stop by if you're available!!
During their school day on Wednesday & Thursday at BGMS, your 8th grade student will begin the scheduling process with the High School counselors. Counselors will be walking them through their options and introducing them to some new vocabulary and concepts that will be very important at the high school (i.e. credits, GPA, transcript, electives, etc.). Students will be given their "Green Scheduling Sheet" to bring home where they need a parent/guardian signature. They will need to bring that signed paper back to BGMS the next day to turn in to the office!
Please stop by and let us know how we can help you!

Great job, Central Elementary Students and Parents!
Central Elementary has now collected 3,327 single-serve drink mix packets to send to our troops overseas. The collection of packets ended yesterday. Central Elementary Counselor, Mrs. Trudi Wolfe, first established a goal of collecting 1,000 drink mix packets. After an overwhelming response from our Central families, Mrs. Wolfe increased the goal to 2,000. And, our Central students and parents surpassed that goal! What a great kindness project! Many thanks to Mrs. Wolfe and our Central families for making a difference in the lives of our military members stationed overseas! Pictured below, left to right are: Emme Buckler, Selena Ebbing, and Rylee Blocker. These three students were among the top group of students who brought in drink mix packet donations. Thanks, girls!

Catching Up with "One Direction"
By Annabelle Leece
One Direction is back at it, the guys -– Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson are starting off 2015 off with rehearsals for their On The Road Again Tour in preparation for their tour to commence February 7th, 2015 in Sydney, Australia! The North American tour sets in motion on July 9th, 2015 at the Qualcomm stadium in San Diego, California. For the first time ever, they are coming to Indianapolis and will be performing at Lucas Oil Stadium!! One Direction released their new album "Four" in November. Its debut was a huge hit in over eighteen countries, and it quickly jumped to the number one spot. In addition to their first three albums also to debut number one in multiple countries as well. This not only sets them at a record with three albums being debuted at number one by the same artist, but they have managed to outdo even themselves and go for the fourth! Speculations have been made that there is a fifth album right around the corner, and we fans can only hope so! (A photo of "One Direction" appears below)

South Grove Students "Pass It Forward"
On January 20, 2015, all South Grove Intermediate School students and staff members were sent home with a card that asked them to “Pass It Forward." Their mission within the week is to do something kind for someone (a friend, a neighbor, or a perfect stranger) and leave the card pictured below. South Grove's goal is to focus students on the idea that by doing something for others, the reward is amazing! Mrs. Tonya Reid, Principal, would love to have pictures of the South Grove students emailed to her so she can share them with others. These kindnesses do not have to cost any money; they simply are an act or a deed delivered because South Grove children care. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day students watched a video about this initiative.
Thank you for helping us to help students “Pass It Forward.”
