March 8, 2024
Hello Ranger Families!
It's hard to believe that we are already in the month of March. This month we have Spring Conferences scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4:45-7:45 p.m. These conferences are by invitation only. There is no school on Friday, March 15, 2024 for students. Our staff will be receiving professional development on this day.
We will be kicking off our Right to Read Week which is Monday, March 18- March 22nd and our Spring Break will begin March 25th-March 29th.
Please be sure the read the arrival and dismissal procedures. Remember to slow down and be respectful of others that are walking through the parking lot. We want to ensure everyone's safety so remember to share this information with others that my be picking up your child.
Thank you for your continued support with your child's education.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Andrea M. Vance
Current Preschool Students for Kindergarten registration
We know that there may be a few questions from the March into Kindergarten event and we are here to help.
The presentation is on the website to view at your convenience. In the meantime, here is the FAQ sheet.
As a reminder, any current ECLC preschool students that will be moving onto Kindergarten will not need to fill out the online registration form that opens on March 11th. You received a google form via email that needed to be filled out by February 7th to choose full or half day kindergarten for next year. If you didn't fill it out, your child is going to automatically be assigned a half day kindergarten spot. If you are considering a full day spot and didn't fill out the form, please email Karen Cross at karencross@nrcs.net and she can make that change for you.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to the office if you have any questions. You can call at 440-353-1100 ext.3 or email Karen Cross.

Winter Month's Recess
Whenever possible, children will be taken outside for recess. Parents are asked to send children to school dressed appropriately for the weather. In the winter, hats, gloves, boots and winter coats are necessary. All students are expected to go outside unless medically excused by a physician. However, there will be times during the year when, due to a variety of conditions, outdoor recess will not be possible. The following are elements for consideration in cancelling outdoor recess:
Playground surface conditions: standing water, mud or ice
Snow
Wind chill and/or temperature of 20 degrees or below

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures Updates
Good morning ECLC families,
Here are a few reminders for arrival and dismissal procedures.
As the lot is small and does not have the capacity to accommodate all of our families, please be considerate at drop off and pick up times and limit your parking time to 15 minutes. We love that our families are connected to each other, though conversations in person and on the phone should be reserved for the yard or playdates, not the parking lot while other parents wait to park.
- Please make sure you have your tags for pick up or a driver's license. Our staff can not release students to you without it. If you have other family that is picking up your child, please ensure they have a driver's license or tag available.
Please DRIVE SLOWLY! Children are present and are difficult to see from the driver’s perspective. There are tight corners, and blind spots that make children vulnerable. Slowing down is one of the best preventive measures.
Children should HOLD HANDS with an adult and AVOID RUNNING! Make sure that children are not leaving the front exit without a parent with them. Walk in designated, marked walkways or sidewalks when possible.
These rules are set in place to ensure the safety of all of our children. Slow down, be considerate, and stay safe!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Vance
