On Friday morning at 8 am, we have the Rally of the Dolphins and then later in the day at 1:00 p.m., the Dusky Pod will celebrate their win from the 3rd quarter with a Pod Party! Ozarks Food Harvest Food Fight
Since 2011, Springfield Public Schools and Ozarks Food Harvest have partnered for Food Fight, an annual fund and food drive competition. Through Food Fight, SPS students helped provide more than 360,000 meals for our hungry neighbors and sponsored 190 at-risk students for a full school year of weekend meals through The Food Bank’s Weekend Backpack Program. In addition to raising meals for our community, Food Fight provides an opportunity for students to learn about the issue of hunger in southwest Missouri and empowers them to take action.
Brief Overview
● Ozarks Food Harvest will secure a community partner to raise food and funds on the school’s behalf for schools participating within the two-week timeframe.
● Winners are determined by the greatest number of meals raised per student (official enrollment number divided by total meals raised)
● $1 donation or 5 pounds of food equals 3 meals. Schools can collect food, funds or both. Each school and partner team will be provided with an online fundraising link to collect donations. Donation Site
