Dear Everitt Families:
Today I am grateful for the sounds of students playing basketball at recess, for the sounds of the band, orchestra and choir preparing for their next concert, for students who take wonderful care of each other, and for our teachers who go above and beyond to make sure that kids have what they need to succeed.
Our secure vestibule is almost finished! We should be able to start using the new entrance on Monday. If you need to come pick up your students during the day, please come to the south side of the building which is our new main entrance!
Spirit Week was so very fun this week! See below for some photos of all of our interpretations of the themes.
We are very excited for our 6th graders to get to experience Outdoor Lab next week. It's such an important right of passage in the lives of our students. The kids always come home different than they left...more responsible, more mature, and braver than they were. I know they will have a wonderful week and can't wait to hear the stories of their adventures.
Just a reminder that we are working hard at Everitt to be good neighbors to the homes and businesses nearby. Please be sure that the locations in which you are picking up your students from school are not making it difficult for the customers or employees of the businesses nearby.
Thank you to all of you who provided feedback at the PTA meeting about how we should proceed with the interim principal process. You should be receiving more information about the next steps soon. I am grateful for your feedback and we are working to respond to what you need and want from us to best support your children.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

PTA News!
One of the many things I love about our kids going to our neighborhood middle school is the community! Last year we supported 65 families with Thanksgiving food baskets.
This year we are asking for your help again to support 40 families with the same thing. Edgar Solis (our Family Engagement Liaison) and Shaun Richey (our Social Emotional Learning Specialist) are leading this charge and have acquired some food and grocery gift cards already. Thank you to those of you who have already given generously!
We are asking our community to help out if you are able to by donating to our Everitt Family Foundation (Venmo @Everitt-Foundation) so we can purchase King Soopers or Safeway gift cards to help complete the baskets with food that will help them celebrate Thanksgiving this year.
Similar to last year, this is not a specific PTA fundraiser, which is why we are using our newly created Everitt Family Foundation to support this need. We will also be supporting a number of families and kids through our annual Holiday Giving Tree and will share that sign-up as soon as it is ready.
If you are in the position to help out please Venmo @Everitt-Foundation and add a note. If you would like to send me a check or purchase the cards directly to donate let me know and I will arrange to pick it up or have you mail it. Feel free to message, call or text me (720-291-1435) if you have any questions or other ideas.
Thank you for all you do for our community!

Attention 8th Grade Families
Can you believe it is time to start thinking about high school already?
Wheat Ridge High School is holding virtual information sessions NEXT Monday, November 15th through Thursday, November 18th. The link can be found on the WRHS website starting on November 15th.
There will also be an in-person Open House on Thursday, November 18th from 6:30-8:00 pm. Come meet administration, counselors, teachers, coaches, students and parents!
You can also schedule a shadow day. See the WRHS website for more information about how to sign up.
Everitt Information Night and Tours!
Our next Everitt Information Night (formerly Jump to the Middle) will be on December 1st from 5:30-6:30 pm and will be virtual. It will be a time to hear from a student panel about what being an Everitt student is like, to hear from the 6th grade teams and elective teachers about what classes are like, and to hear from administrators and counselors about what Everitt is like as a whole. Please let your friends and neighbors know!
Our administrators and Sources of Strength students will provide tours to interested families from 1:15-1:45 pm through the rest of the semester. You can call the main office at Everitt to sign up for a time or you can just come and we will accommodate you!
