Early Years
He was born August 5, 1930. It all started on his first plane ride, which he took in 1937 (at the age of 7). From there on he has always dreamed of piloting. Later on at the age of 16, he earned his first pilot licence. Neil went to college at Purdue.
Education/Training
He went to college for piloting. Later on he served in the U.S. Navy at the Korean War (as a pilot). Also, he graduated as a Bachelor of Science Aeronautica Engineering. As a job out of college, he was a research pilot for the NACA Lewis Research Center (1960-1962). Finally, at the end of 1962 he was selected into NASA.
Accomplishments
He was the first man to walk on the moon. Not only did he do that, he has flown over 200 different aircraft. Also, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for being the first person to walk on the moon. Neil lived to be 82 years old, and he died a wealthy man.
