Dear FSS Staff,
Reminders:
Fundraiser Assembly-this is how we will pay for field trips, encourage and excite students to participate.
Substitute Teachers-Put in your sub request early even if you are not sure or are waiting for a certain sub. No last minute requests to Nydia please.
FSS Year Instructional Plan-I have shared it in this email and in the google shared file under Curriculum/Instruction. This is meant to guide our progress with implementing DII and best teaching practices. We will spend PLC time really honing our craft to raise our achievement. THIS IS OUR YEAR TO SHINE! All pieces are in place for huge gains!
Lighthouse Team-They will meet this week on Thursday. Please provide them with feedback on how Leadership Notebooks and WIGS are going. We need to start thinking about student leadership and clubs.
ELD-We are off to a great start. K, 1 and 2 please email me a spread sheet of your ELD groups. More ELD training is coming.
Signing off,
Stephenie

Instructional Focus
Positive trends this week:
-Room environments are intentional and are meaningful to the standards being taught.-Engagement strategies are posted-really refrain from calling on raised hands. Engage all:)
Refine:
-Work to collaborate with grade level for cohesion in standards and lessons.
-ELA reading comp, writing, ELD , math and a k-2 phonics (new) standard are posted, deconstructed, measurable and referenced daily.
-Check rigor of task being asked. Is the seat work to the correct level of rigor and not a low level activity? See DOK article from last week.
