Women's History Month Slide Deck
In March, there are many different religious holidays and festivals. Christians celebrate Easter, Jews celebrate Purim, Hindus celebrate Holi, and Muslims observe Ramadan. San Diego Unified welcomes all religions and non-theists alike.
On March 10th through April 9th marks the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. Some students may be fasting from sunrise to sunset, including water. Here is a video on how to wish someone a Happy Ramadan!

Also, it's an excellent time to remind/share the information about Seth's Law with students. This law not only protects our LGBTQIA+ students from being bullied but also protects students who are being bullied because of their religion, disability, gender, gender identity, nationality, race, and ethnicity. This law also mandates that school staff intervene(until the bullying has stopped) when they become aware of instances of bullying.
Here is the Lewis form students can use to report bullying
March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month(DDAM), a time to educate the public about developmental disabilities and highlight the importance of including people with disabilities in all areas of society.
Here is a new video to help educate students on this topic!
