School Resumes on Monday
We do understand that some in person families may have ongoing issues from the winter weather that prevent them from coming on Monday, and online families may have connectivity issues. Just communicate with us as you are able - don't worry!
Progress Reports
Food Pantry and Blood Drive at ELC Tomorrow
The church we lease the elementary space from is having a drive-thru food pantry tomorrow the 20th from 10am to noon. It is open to all, no questions asked, as long as supplies last. Share with any that you know need help. They will have fresh fruits and veggies, meat, cheese, milk and more. The church address is 8500 Teel Parkway.
In addition, they will be having a blood drive from 8am-1:30pm to help the critically low North Texas supply. Each donation saves 3 lives. Carter Blood practices social distancing and takes COVID safety measures. Just scan the QR in the picture below to reserve your time.
Kids Heart Challenge
Today Agent KHC kicked things off by taking students on a mission to find the missing heart heroes, fight heart disease, and help others. Your student can watch the OFFICIAL TRAILER if you missed it.
Scan or click the QR code below to download the Kids Heart Challenge app or visit our school KHC page to register under Leadership Prep.
We know not every family may be able to donate, however, as part of Kids Heart Challenge, every student will benefit from the daily and weekly missions that will teach them about HOW and WHY they need to take care of their hearts. If you can help raise funds, the American Heart Association will put those dollars to work saving lives. Every dollar makes a difference.

Are you a business owner?
Greetings All,
Justin Delacruz, the founder of the Children's Public Safety Education program "Patrol Stories" and "Officer Maxwell" is looking to partner with local businesses that would like to sponsor Patrol Stories school presentations this year.
Patrol Stories is a private nonprofit organization that travels the Metroplex and teaches the importance of everyday 911 safety. Their goal is to create a fun, educational, innovative, and entertaining public safety experience between Officers and Students. This program brings Police Officers and citizens together for a ONE OF A KIND Officer engagement experience. With your help the Patrol Stories Team can reach their goal of visiting 200 schools this year to create positive memories for over 20,000 Children.
The Patrol Stories program has been recognized by publications such as the Dallas Morning News, NBC 5 News, CBS 11 News, and Star Local Media as "an amazing program for both Law Enforcement agencies and communities everywhere".
Below are a few links that show a bit of what The Patrol Stories organization does.

Patrol Stories offers multiple different sponsorship packages and all of the donations help the program visit as many children and communities as possible.
If you or your business would like to partner with Patrol Stories this year please reach out to Justin Delacruz directly at patrolstories@gmail.com or call 214-886-9232. He will then be able to discuss what sponsorship options they have available and how your business can be presented to over 20,000 families in DFW.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Summer Camps?
Here is the beginning smore newsletter.
Kelly Skinner's After Hours Program
Does your child need after school care and supervision? Help with homework? The AFTER HOURS program at our secondary campus has EXPANDED to include any student from elementary or secondary.
Kelly Skinner runs this program independently of the school, and is an LPS mom who loves our school and students. She substitutes regularly and has been very involved in multiple school activities over the past four years. Elementary students will be walked down to the secondary building by Mrs. Skinner after they are released for the day. The classroom at secondary is currently not in use during the school day as it is assigned to an online teacher.
AFTER HOURS is available for early release days and some Full Staff Development days. During the day your child can expect to play games, complete homework, have chrome book time, play outside or in the gym when available, do art projects, science experiments, and watch a G rated movie on full days. Students need their own snack and water, on full days they also need a lunch from home. We follow all of the normal LPS COVID policies, and pick up is at the Secondary building south parking lot (regular drop off and pick up area).
Please contact Kelly Skinner directly to sign up!
