Nuclear Fusion

What's new?
Hi, my name is Kaytlin Teal. I am a young, new scientist. My coworkers and I have found out the secret to using Nuclear Fusion as an energy source. We can now use the same energy that our sun does!
Nuclear Fusion VS Nuclear Fisson
Fission is the splitting of a large atom into two or more smaller ones. Fusion is the fusing of two or more lighter atoms into a larger one. Nuclear Fission takes little energy to split the large atom into two or more smaller ones. Nuclear takes massive energy requirements to bring two or more protons together. On earth, the most likely fusion reaction is Deuterium-Tritium reaction. For Nuclear Fusion, high density, and high temperature environments are required. The energy released by Fusion is usually 3 to 4 times greater than energy released by Fission. They are both used to create power. But Fusion is more of an experimental trial that we have just finished studying!
Be Cautious!
- Because the two hydrogen atoms have the same charge, they will electrically repel each other.
- Requires extremely high temperatures. Difficult to contain.
- Would remove any incentive for restraint in the use of energy.
- Could produce radioactive waste causing a threat to the workers in the form of accidents.
Other Facts:
- Economic Impact: As a measure of the economic impact, with worldwide projected demand of 40,000 new electric power plants needed in this century, the required investment will exceed $100 trillion in today's dollars.
- Energy Rates: Energy rates of Nuclear Fusion are tripling continuously.
- Energy Markets: The energy market would increase tremendously.
- A world Without Current Energy Limitations: The world would be able to access a lot more energy without all of the limitations holding us back. With our new discovery, the first step has been taken!
