Wolf Branch Elementary News
March Edition
Our upper elementary playground is complete! Thank you, PTC for providing auction proceeds to be used towards the funding of this project. We hope to take the fencing around the soccer area off next week, and all features of the playground will be in operation at that time! The students have enjoyed their time out there so far, and they are already providing feedback on what might be needed for future expansion!

Read Across America Week
This past week our students and staff celebrated Read Across America Week. Each day students and staff had the opportunity to dress up to a certain theme. The favorite dress up day of many was "dress like your favorite book character." As an end to the week we invited retired teachers as well as many other district employees to read to each classroom. Students also enjoyed reading outside, reading with a different grade level, and even reading under flashlights in the dark classroom. It was a great week and a fun and different way to encourage our students to read!

Young Author's Competition
The Young Author's competition is held each year in an effort to encourage students to write and publish. All students in grades Kindergarten through Fourth were invited to submit a story. The Young Author's committee selected one author per grade level to receive this award.
The grade level winners, pictured below, have been invited to attend a one evening conference with other aspiring authors in the county at Westhaven Elementary School on March 13th. All authors will have their books on display and will eve get to meet a famous author.
