A Letter from Mr. Savage
What an exciting week here at Valley Heights!! Our Lady Mustangs earned their right to play in the 2A State Basketball Tournament at Dodge City this week! The ladies won a tough battle against the Alma-Wabaunsee Chargers to bring home the championship plaque. We hosted a sendoff assembly on Tuesday and set the team and Coach Broxterman and Coach Steinfort off in style! As I write this week’s article we have won our first-round game against Wichita County and are moving on to the semifinals. We will play on Friday, March 8th at 2:00 pm.
Spring Break is here! Because of the 2A State Tournament we will be getting a jump start on Spring Break with no classes on Friday, March 8th. If you are travelling to Dodge City we wish you a safe journey. If you are unable to join us you can still catch the Mustangs in several ways. If you have an account the game will be on the NFHS network. You can also catch the audio version of the game by listening to 95.5 FM – KNDY or KMZA 92.1 FM.
Experience tells us that when we get back from Spring Break it is a mad dash to the end of the school year. We have end of year banquets for FFA, NHS and athletics, Senior Night, Forensics meets, TVL Art and we have not even talked about spring sports activities. We will do everything we can to keep our patrons informed of start times for these events.
Parents - please take the time to fill out the Family Engagement Survey. The link is below. You only have to fill one survey out if you have multiple children here at Valley Heights Junior-Senior High! Thanks!
I am cutting this week’s article short! We have a lot to get accomplished for our trip to Dodge City and getting final grades submitted.
Enjoy your Spring Break. We will see you back here on March 18th!
Have a great week!
Mr. Savage
