Pre-K had Community Helper Day. Officer Esposito from Hightstown Police Department came to share and explain to our Preschool students how helps in the community.
Mrs. Pukel's class at Walter C. Black Elementary School was ready for the solar eclipse!
JUST DANCE
The Walter C. Black Elementary School students and staff were in for a treat as they participated in the Hip Hop Fundamentals Assembly on March 28, sponsored by the WCB PTO. Students (and staff!) learned about the history of hip hop and were taught numerous dance sequences.
Ethel McKnight Elementary School students visited Jenkinson's Aquarium on a field trip!
Don’t get too close! Love seeing the updated bulletin board with pointillism pieces created by Mrs. Caruso's eighth-grade painting students.
Spring Athletics Spotlight - Part 2
Boys' Lacrosse Team
This season we have a strong group of returning players coming off a strong season last year. Last year we made states and won a state game which was great for the program and looking to add to the state success this year. Returning varsity seniors are Jeff Brink, Mason Blumberg, Sean Alhadef, and Franki Garcia. New players to watch are Trevor McCarthy and Eric Wiley. Key games during the season
are Lawrence and Steinert. We graduated a lot of our offensive production last year but looking for some players to step up and take that over. Also excited for all the new players in the program to see them grow and develop!
Boys' Volleyball Team
Coach Lisk and Coach DeLeo are very excited for the augural Boys Volleyball season here at Hightstown High School. The addition of another Spring sport has given more students an opportunity to participate in athletics this spring as 30 kids came out for tryouts.
We look forward to competing at the JV level this spring and hopefully growing the program to multiple levels in the future. Be on the lookout for updates regarding our program on our IG account, @hightstownboysvolleyball.
Go Rams!
Girls' Track Team
Spring Track is here and we're going strong thanks to our amazing student athletes! With our returning Seniors, we do expect to see success on our Sprint, Jump, Throw, and Distance teams. Our returning Seniors include Makenzy Nielsen, Tamyra Basden, Elysia Cornier, Nastasia Gayle, Desiree Neptune, and Jeslyn Ntori. We even have some new Senior Talent on our Distance Team, Alexandra Szelag and on our Throws Team, Edwina Ampadu. Aside from our Senior Talent, we certainly have some newcomers from all grade levels that bring a new level of energy to the team and we are excited to see their success during this season and beyond!
As our first meet quickly approaches, we certainly have plenty of talent all across the board and us coaches are excited to see them crush their events and accomplish their goals this season! We have 3 Tri-Meets this season and multiple Relay Meets on Saturdays that are an absolute must watch, so be sure to check out our athletics calendar and be on the lookout for further information! Go Rams!
Boys' Golf Team
In traditional fashion, we are a young team with returning varsity starters Erik Zaki and Lucas Dutriaux. Be on the lookout this season for Gage Damore a promising freshman and Michael Fowler a first year junior. The best part of this team is they are young and will be a solid core group for years to come. The team looks forward to a season where we can build off of a four win season last year with the help of new assistant coach Ms. Lindacher. Be on alert for the upsets of HHS over WWPS and HHS over Allentown this season. You heard it here first! Go RAMS!
One senior from each Hightstown High School club and sport is nominated to represent their club/sport. Each representative will partake in various rounds in an elimination-style competition such as a group dance number, talent show, spelling bee, interview, and more! The winner will be proclaimed HHS's Ram of the Year with prizes and honor for their club/sport!
April is Stress Awareness Month—a timely reminder to prioritize mental health and well-being. In the midst of academic demands and daily responsibilities, it's crucial for both students and staff to take moments throughout the day to reset and practice mindfulness.
Remember to take some breaks. Step outside, take a few deep breaths, or engage in a quick mindfulness exercise. Your well-being is paramount, and these small breaks can make a significant difference in managing stress. Allow these moments to rejuvenate your mind, so you can have a focused and productive study session.
Remember, your mental health matters, and taking proactive steps to manage stress is a sign of strength. If you or someone you know needs support, Care Solace is available 24/7/365 for confidential mental health care coordination:
- Call: 888-515-0595 (Multilingual support available)
- Visit: www.caresolace.com/ewrsd
Take the time you need, practice mindfulness, and thrive.
