From the Principal
The first day of school is approaching! The excitement is building! Our school year will start in a different way, but it will still be a great start to the year!
I wanted to share with you a timeline of events as we approach the first day of school:
- August 6, 7, and 10 - The Mott staff return to work. They are in training during these days to learn skills and tools to create a powerful virtual learning experience for our students and families.
- August 11 - Staff workday. Staff will use this day to create a virtual Meet the Teacher experience for students and parents. It will contain important information to support Mott families during the virtual learning experience. It will also include a virtual campus tour. Office staff and administrative staff will be using this day to finalize registrations and put all of our new students into classes. Remember, the Mott community is still growing at a remarkable rate! We have enrolled over 220 new Mott Owls. More students to love!
- August 12 - Virtual Meet the Teacher! We will use the morning to make sure we have worked out any technological glitches and to make sure that class lists are final. Teachers will send parents an email with the Meet the Teacher content. They will use the email address that is in Skyward.
- August 13 - The First Day of School
Start of School Info Needed From Parents - Deadline is Today, August 6
Plans have taken shape in PfISD both for our online learning and our on-campus learning that will take place this fall. Perhaps the most critical piece remaining to the picture here at Mott is knowing as much as we can about the Owls we will be serving this school year. Please read the following message carefully and complete the requested actions of parents so that we are as prepared as possible to meet the needs of your child.
For all returning PfISD students, parents have a simple but important task to complete by Aug. 6th. Log into your Skyward Parent portal and complete:
1) a quick verification of student information,
2) a health screener for your child,
3) Selection to participate in Online Learning, or, On-Campus Learning for this marking period.
Incoming K and 3rd grade students and any student with a change of address will need to provide proof of residency, which can be uploaded through the Skyward Parent Portal.
Any parent or guardian of a returning PfISD student needing a Skyward Family Access account or with additional questions should contact Skyward support at parentportal@pfisd.net by email. Please include your name, your student’s name, and your student’s school on the email to the parent portal. Remember, once you have your Access Account, please ensure that you log on using the Parent Portal and not the Student Portal.
