Ms. Lehman - 2nd Grade
Hello! I am Melissa Lehman. This will be my 8th year teaching and I am very excited to join the LSE family. I have taught primary grades with the exception of one year teaching 6th grade. When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my family; my 5 year old daughter, Jacey, my partner Brad and his daughter, Harper and my dog, Izzy. We love spending time at the lake. I also enjoy reading, yoga and traveling. I'm looking forward to a great year!
Miss Danaher - 4th Grade
Mrs. Young - 4th Grade
My name is Jalessa Young! I am elated that I am joining LSE as a fourth grade teacher this year! My family is full of educators and for me, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. I graduated with my BA from Emporia State and received my MA in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. I taught in Early Education for five years, Kids Country for a year and a half and began teaching for LSR7 January 2021! When I’m not at school, you can find me at home in the garden, crafting or spending time with my kids! I can not wait to meet you all!
Mrs. Henry - 6th Grade
Mrs. Karlin - Reading Specialist
Coach Carey - PE
Mr. Light - Art
Mrs. Wheeler - Paraprofessional
Ms. Stacy - Paraprofessional
Hello! My name is Stacy Arrington but the students and staff will know me as Ms. Stacy. I am super excited to be a part of the LSE family as a paraprofessional. After working in management for over two decades, I found my second career while subbing in our LSR7 district. While spending time at LSE as a building sub and experiencing firsthand the compassion, engagement, and strive for success they have for each student and staff, I was hooked and was thrilled to find my fit on the support staff as a paraprofessional.
My husband and I have a daughter that graduated in 2016 through LSW and is currently in college and a son that will be a freshman at LSHS this year.
I am beyond excited for the upcoming school year!
Mr. Merrell - Paraprofessional
Ms. Nettie - Cafeteria
Ms. Sheila - Night Custodian
I am Sheila Berkstresser and I will be the night custodian at LSE. I will split my time between LSE and Westview each evening. You might see me at evening events. I'm a proud mother of 3 amazing, beautiful daughters. I've been working for the LSR7 school district for 11 years now. I love nature walks, watching my children in their sports, and reading.
MEET YOUR TEACHER
- Classroom teachers will send a sign up to families to identify what time they would like to attend a short meet and greet with their child's teacher. These will be in 15 minute time slots and will be limited to 5 families per time slot so that we can distance in classrooms as much as possible. We ask that families do their best to limit the number of adults they bring to school as we must contact trace all that enter our building. ALL those that come into our school MUST wear masks at all times. The purpose of meet your teacher is to bring school supplies and to have a quick meet and greet!
- Classroom teachers will send all information/documents needed to families by noon on Monday, August 23.
- PTA will be set up in the cafeteria so families can join PTA in a socially distanced format
- Virtual Meet Your Teacher will be available at 6:10 pm via Google Meet for families that are more comfortable in a virtual format or cannot attend in person sessions
- We will be encouraging families to stay socially distanced, be attentive to not congregating, and stay masked.
