School Counselor Connection
Monthly updates for Arizona School Counselors
June 2023
A huge THANK YOU to all of you that supported your high school students with ECAPs this year! ECAPs have been reviewed for compliance and there is some incredible work being done all across our state to prepare students for their futures. Our team at ADE is working hard to provide support with ECAPs through our partnership with Pipeline AZ. We have created a FREE ECAP platform, My Future AZ, which offers ECAP activities for students in grades 6-12.
School Counselor Connection is brought to you by: Andrea Glenn, Director of Post-Secondary & Community Engagement and Emily Brown, School Counselor Director at the Arizona Department of Education.
School Counselor Spotlight
Kudos to Jacqueline Lynch! She has created folders with forms for students to be able to check their transcripts and plug in credits as they are earned which mirror her work. Her students are taught how to evaluate credits and record those on a worksheet as credits are earned. The folders are housed in her office in a file cabinet which individual students are directed to. This guided practice allows students more ownership of credits earned and ultimately their education.
Keep up the great work Jacqueline!

We are interested in partnering with high schools to provide presentations to your students who are enrolled in CTE classes. Our goal is to provide information about our apprenticeship program, as well as give insight into the electrical industry and the various career paths available.
We would also like to aid you and your students in any way we can. Whether it be through participating in career days, providing tours of our facilities, or serving as a resource for any questions you or your students may have about the electrical industry. We can also offer in-classroom instruction and workshops.
Our apprenticeship program offers a comprehensive training program that includes both classroom instruction and on-the-job training. By partnering with your school, we believe that we can help ensure that your students are prepared for a successful career in the electrical industry.
