Reading Junior High Longhorns
Message from your Principal
As we enter into this week of school, our focus is on establishing or continuing good habits for the new year as a Longhorn student and good citizen. I began discussing last week the 7 habits of highly effective teens by Sean Covey. The first habit is to be proactive- taking responsibility for one's own happiness and success. We discussed ways students could be proactive at school (studying notes each day, practicing math problems, attending tutorials, developing a study schedule...) and it was great to hear some of the ways our Longhorns are being proactive in several areas of their lives.
Reminders:
Lanyards and IDs must be worn around the neck every day at school. Students will not be allowed to purchase pep rally tickets or attend upcoming Friday fun days during lunches without their ID's.
After School Car Riders:
If you are picking up your child after school, we ask that you follow the line in the front of the building and pick up from the far right lane. If you are choosing to pick up from the parking lot, please park in a parking spot and wait until all students have entered their vehicle to move and exit. Do not block cars- we have high school students who pay for parking spots in our lot who can leave before we cross students over to meet their parents. Safety first!
Thank you for sending us the Best of the Best!
