A Note From Mrs. Mathe
We are excited to welcome students back to our buildings on Wednesday, August 11th! Our goal is to provide the safest learning environment for our students and staff. With the rise of COVID-19 cases in our community, we continue to encourage hand washing and staying home when sick. Wearing a mask or face covering, while optional, is also encouraged. These measures helped keep our schools open last year, and we are confident they can help slow the spread this year.
There has been a slight change to our first day of school opening time. We will open the doors at 7:15 am. (This is a change from 7:00 am) We will have extra staff on hand to welcome students from 7:15-8:15 am. The purpose of the extended welcome period on the first day of school is to spread out the numbers of students and families in one area at a time. We also ask that you limit the number of family members walking your child to class. We will not count tardies the first few weeks of schools.
One last note, our school spirit store is now open! We have 5 shirt options for families to select from. The link and additional information can be found toward the bottom of this newsletter. Shirts will be available to purchase through August 27th.
I hope you and your family are able to make a few more summer memories this week before your children return to school! See you in a few days!

School Supply Information
If your family ordered the pre-packaged school supplies at the end of the year last year, they will be distributed to your child's teacher for Meet the Teacher.
If you purchased your own school supplies, please bring them with you on the night of Meet the Teacher. This allows our staff to organize the supplies before the first day of school.

Library News
Thanks to everyone who came to our summer library days! It was wonderful to see current, former, future, and new Powell Panthers! If you have books to return, there are 3 easy ways to get them back us.
*Stop by the school anytime from now through August 10, and put them in the grey bin on the front porch.
*Return them to the library carts in the hallways at Meet the Teacher.
*Return them the first week of school.
Please complete this short survey regarding library hours. We appreciate your opinion and will use the results to make adjustments to this event for next summer.
