The Library Lowdown
August
Your teacher recommends.....
We need a few good volunteers for an ongoing display for the library this year! Do you read a lot of YA? You are the person I am looking for! Each month, I would like to feature one teacher and their reading recommendations. There will be a spot in the front of the library with 3-4 book stands. If you volunteer, your job would be to come through the library every day and make sure those book stands are full, containing books that you would recommend. If you are interested, shoot me an e-mail and I will assign you a month. Remember, this is a perfect opportunity for you to connect with your kids.
The Art and Science of Teaching
As we work with this book throughout the year, please be aware of a few resources. If you have misplaced your copy or forgot it at home, I have about 30 copies in the library that you can check out. Also if you are an auditory learner or prefer an e-format, the book is available in our district's online professional collection. You can find it here:
With the e-version, you can listen to it from your computer or download it to an MP3 player to listen at the gym.
More to come...
I publish the Library Lowdown each month so that everyone knows what is going on in your library. I always try to keep it short and sweet with only what you need to know. So for those of you who take the time to read it, Cherri and I appreciate it. More to come in September as we get up and rolling. Thanks!
