World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser Totals (as of today)
World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser
We are doing great so far! As a reminder, our fundraiser will be through March 22nd. All money will be due on March 22nd by noon. Please remember we are unable to accept unsold chocolate bars, if you accept a box you are responsible for the $60. We are hoping to raise $12,500 that will go towards our library renovation and staff appreciation. Thanks all your contributions so far!
March Madness Tardy Challenge
We will be starting our March Madness Tardy Challenge this week! The way it works is classrooms will compete against other classrooms to see who has the least amount of tardies over the course of a week. We will track the percentage of students on time with your total enrollment, to make this as fair as possible. At the end of each week, the class with the best average of on time students will move onto the next round. There will be 3 rounds and we will culminate with a winning class the Thursday before Spring Break. Students must arrive by 7:50 am in order to count as on time.
The winning class will receive an ice cream sandwich party for the next day. Classes are not penalized for students not in attendance. If students arrive after 8:35 am, that is considered a partial absence and not a tardy.
Spring Enchantment Dance Details & Set Up Volunteer Sign Up
We are thrilled to host our first school dance - the Spring Enchantment Dance - on Friday, March 22nd from 4-5:30. This event is for all students PK-5th grade. This is not a drop off event so all students must have an adult attend with them. Students can dress in their favorite Disney attire (characters, Disney shirts, Princess/Prince) if they choose or they can dress up in whatever clothing they are most comfortable. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase with cash only. We will also have face painting and a photo booth! We can't way to see your dance moves soon!
We could really use support in set up and break down of this event. If you are willing to come and help decorate and/or clean up, please sign up here for a 45min -1 hour chunk of time. Thank you in advance for your support.
Staff's Favorite Things
During our staff appreciation week, each day has a dress up theme and a suggested gift or item for staff members. If you would like to participate, you can learn about our staff's favorite things on this document. Anything you can do to show your love for the staff is appreciated.
We are also asking families (parents/guardians/extended family) to consider writing kind notes or cards to teachers and other staff members to show your appreciation. A short note of thanks goes a long way.
Yearbooks for Sale
Yearbooks are for sale through April 5th. Buy one today! They are really great this year and a special way for your child to remember their year. They are $25 and you can pay online through this link.
CMAS Testing - Coming Soon
It is almost that time of year that our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students begin to prepare for Colorado State Testing. Each grade will take 3 days worth of tests in both English Language Arts (reading and writing) and math. 5th graders will also test in science. Testing will begin the week after Spring Break. (April 9th)
Please ensure your child gets a good night of sleep before the tests, eats a healthy breakfast (or gets breakfast at school), and is at school on time for testing days. Once testing begins in class, any student who arrives late cannot join their class and will have to make up testing during other times of the day. Students have been working extremely hard all year and we simply want them to try their best and take their time.
Please see the schedule below to ensure your child is in attendance and appointments/other events are scheduled around these times.
