Hansen Weekly Update
June 5, 2020
Hello Hansen Students and Families!
I hope this message finds you all well as we wrap up this first week of June!
I know we have had some wonderful questions and ideas from some of our 5th Grade families around ways we can celebrate the culmination of the elementary journey for this group of amazing students, and I am happy to say that we have some details beginning to fall into place!
As I know everyone can appreciate, the past several weeks have been filled with little certainty as we all have been forced to adapt to the most current information that we have through the state and local guidelines. Just this week, we received guidance that allows us to begin to prepare for our students and families to visit the Hansen campus, in their vehicles, to participate in a rolling Clap-Out. The Clap-Out is a Hansen tradition that is an important part of our Grade 5 student experience, and I promise this year's will be like no other! The staff and I are working to coordinate final details, including the date/time, and we will be sending further communication next week with more information! We are so excited to be able to offer this opportunity for our students to return to campus and be celebrated by Hansen staff and their families in a safe way! More to come!
In addition, at a time convenient for you, we invite students and families to stop by our school sign and take a picture next to the messages displayed for our 5th graders (see the pictures below). If you choose to take a picture, we ask that you do not come as part of a large group and that social distancing be followed at all times.
We very much look forward to providing our 5th Grade students and families with some memorable moments in the coming weeks, and please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions!
Boosterthon
This weekend, we invite students and families to participate in closing out the Boosterthon experience with a Virtual Fun Run at home!
What tomorrow will look like:
Our students are going to run in their very own Fun Run at home! There’s a lot of different ways students can run 35 laps—it doesn’t have to be an exact science. Students can run up and down your driveway 35 times or around your house. If it’s raining, students could run circles in your house while the family cheers them on. Whatever way it happens, we want students staying active and healthy!
Our school has chosen for all students to be recorded as running 35 laps unless notified otherwise.
We also want to make sure that your family is still practicing appropriate social distancing. To that end, we kindly ask for this event to happen solely at your house and not near others.
We’ll send the Virtual Fun Run Event link to you tomorrow morning. We’re excited to see this FUN opportunity come alive for your family at home! GO Bulldogs!
Tomorrow is going to be a virtual BLAST! Please let us know if you have any questions. Remember to post photos of the fun and learning! #HansenCAPT #HansenFunRun
