News and Notes
PBS
The more you focus on the positive, the more positive you will get. Restock your Bulldog Bucks, Principal Prides, and Positive Office Referrals to ensure you have what you need to positively reinforce students and staff for awesome behavior!
Bulldog Buck Payday should happen at a minimum of twice a month. Make sure kids get to spend their Bulldog Bucks or they will become worthless. Your store should be restocked! A few items are left in the office if you want to get a few more things.
Summer School
Current JCPS teachers may begin applying February 25th on Talent Ed. Each building principal will hire their own summer school teachers.
Classroom teachers need to make contact with parents through emails, notes, in-person discussion, or phone calls to the parents of the students that need to attend summer school for remedial work and to meet the requirements of Senate Bill 319. Parents need to understand the urgency of their child's needs and give summer school serious consideration.
Student-Led Conferences would be a great time to get parents to enroll students for Summer School.
Absences
If you have a planned absence, please let me know ahead of time. There are blue sheets in the file divider in the office. Personal days must be approved 2 weeks in advance. Sick days do not need approval, but I would like to get them on the calendar as soon as possible.
SSTs
It's not too late to start an SST on a student struggling academically or behaviorally. It's best to document concerns and strategies being used to address those concerns.
Grades in Infinite Campus
Update your grades at a minimum of the 15th and 30th of each month.
Posting text levels needs to be done monthly in Infinite Campus - this is a district expectation.

CHRA for $30 Monthly Discount
It is that time of year again!! The cHRA at umr.com is officially open today. You may go online at any time this month and take the cHRA. Umr has done a great job redoing their website and the cHRA is EASY to find!
You will need your insurance card to log in. Some people have had issues with the pop up being blocked. Be sure to clear your cache to allow the hra to open. You will not need to complete your screens to take the HRA. You will simply click “I don’t know” on all the biometric-numbers from the screen. UMR will upload the information for you.
3rd Quarter Celebration Information
Our celebration for third quarter is Friday, March 15. They will be having a treat and an extra recess. Please bring your students that meet the qualifications for this celebration to me (I have attached the requirements below). I will take them to the kindergarten playground and have a treat for them. If the weather does not permit going outside, we will be in my classroom for the 20 minutes. I will need one of your grade level team members to assist me in managing students and one (or more) of your team member to keep the students that do not qualify. That teacher could go over rules and expectations. Below are the times that you may bring your students to me and they will need to be picked up after 20 minutes. We have tried our best to make this work with changing AMP times, recess, etc. I apologize if this is not a convenient time for you. Please let me know the number of students that will be attending the quarterly celebration by Wednesday, March 13. Thanks so much for your help!

Quarterly Celebration
Students in grades K-1 who have 5 or less yellows and reds in a quarter will be eligible for the quarterly celebrations for first quarter and 4 or less yellows and reds for the remainder of the year. Students in grades 2-5 who have 4 or less yellows and reds in first quarter and 3 or less yellows and reds for the remainder of the year will be eligible for the quarterly celebrations. This celebration is planned by the SW-PBS team. Examples of celebrations include extra recess, special treats, like a root beer float, a movie party, or more. Each quarter, students start fresh towards earning the quarterly celebration. Bus tickets and major office referrals (resulting in a consequence from principal and phone call home) will result in a student not being able to participate in that quarter’s celebration
