Scrip
KWIK STAR Program Change: Kwik Star joined the scrip program several years ago, offering a 4% rebate, which is the largest rebate of any gas station. Beginning January 1, they've added a new grocery only card, which has a 10% rebate!
The new grocery cards come in a $25 denomination and can be reloaded, just like the current scrip cards. Use them to purchase in-store products only, EXCEPT tobacco, alcohol, gift cards, lottery/lotto and stamps. The current gas and gift cards can still be used for anything, including gas, grocery items, car washes, tobacco, alcohol, gift cards, lottery/lotto and stamps. Just know that all purchases made with the old cards will have a 4% rebate.
So if you regularly buy grocery items inside the store, please consider purchasing one of the new, reloadable Kwik Star grocery cards! We have a nice selection of FREE fabric gift card holders, which you can use to safely store your two types of Kwik Star scrip cards!
Contact Paula, your scrip coordinator, if you have questions or would like a gift card holder - (319) 329-6829.

3rd Grade Service Learning Project
CAN YOU HELP US WITH OUR SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT?
NO MONEY INVOLVED!!!!
Are you looking for a way to get rid of blankets and comforters you don’t use anymore?
Written by 3rd grade students (Miss Cooling’s Class)
Dear Students and Parents at Lasalle Elementary,
We are working on a Service Learning project. Our 3rd grade class decided to help an animal shelter that needs blankets and comforters for animals beds. If you have gently used blankets or comforters you can send them with your child after Christmas Break. We will accept them through the end of January!!! We will have a drop-off box in the hallway by the office at the Lasalle Elementary( K-4) building. The blankets and comforters should be washed but PLEASE DO NOT buy new ones, we only want donated old ones. We thank you for helping us and appreciate your donations!
Thank you for helping the animals at the shelter get what they need!

St. Ludmila Volunteers Needed
My name is Linda Sills, and I'm the Office Administrator and Volunteer Coordinator at St. Ludmila. I'm reaching out because we are in urgent need of Bingo Concession Volunteers on Sundays from about 4:00-7:30pm, starting on January 22, 2023. Fr. Ken and I would love it if you could help us out! Our Bingo Program makes it possible for us to continue to pay our annual subsidy to LaSalle Catholic and Xavier High School. 100% of the profits of Bingo help offset the cost of tuition at both of these schools. We would appreciate your assistance! Fr. Ken volunteers about once a month to help alleviate the need for volunteers. Will you help us?
You can sign up on our St. Ludmila website by clicking on "Bingo Volunteer Sign Up", then scroll down and click on Bingo Concessions, where you will find the schedule with available slots that need to be filled. I'm also happy to sign you up, if that is easier for you.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you in advance for your assistance in this valuable Parish activity!
Thank you!

May God Bless You!

Dancing with the Saints
Hi, my name is Michelle Ridder and I am a Season 7 Dancing with the Saints Contestant. Our mission for Season 7 is TO INCREASE SALARIES for all Pre-K-12 Xavier School teachers. Sixteen years ago, my husband (John) and I made the decision to send Ryann (X20) and Elsie (x22) through Xavier Catholic Schools. It was one of the best parenting decisions we ever made. The teachers and faith-based model drew us in and we never looked back.
Sadly, we continue to lose talented individuals to public teaching opportunities or professions outside of education that may pay more than what he/she is making here. (Note: 2022-23 Base salary = $36k). Through your generous DWTS donations, our hope is to keep more of these talented educators in OUR schools to TEACH and GUIDE OUR CHILDREN, while continuing to DO WHAT THEY LOVE!
Ways to donate include:
1. Checks payable to Xavier HS and mailed to the Xavier Foundation Office at 6300 42nd St NE in CR, IA 52411. Please put Michelle Ridder DWTS in the memo of the check.
- Online donations via link or below QR code: https://one.bidpal.net/dwts2023/browse/donation(details:item/5)
A little bit more about me. I am starting my sixteenth year at Lil’ Drug Store Products. Previous to Lil’ Drug, I was at CRST for ten years. Some of my volunteer activities include: St. Jude’s Parishioner and Lector, Xavier Impact Fund Co-Chair, Xavier Post-Prom Co-Chair, Xavier Foundation Board Member, Junior Achievement Classroom Volunteer since 2006, Young Parents Network Volunteer, Xavier Booster Club Member, 2014 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Eastern Iowa Women of the Year, and 2015 LLS Eastern Iowa Campaign Co-Chair/Mentor.
I am so grateful for this opportunity to give back to the Xavier, Lasalle, and St. Jude’s communities that have been so good to my family and me! Thank you for your time and consideration.
