Newsletter Week 7 Term 2
Shelly Park School - Wednesday 15th of June 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Whānau
Winter has arrived with some crazy weather around the place. Our fields have become quite soft in a very short space of time, so these will be out of bounds for a little while. Please make sure your children have a rain coat and jumper as, in typical Auckland fashion, it can be nice and warm one minute and then cold and wet the next.
As mentioned in previous emails, the Hall Project has had another slight delay and handover will now be at the start of Term 3. We are just waiting on a couple of consents from council and then the team can finish off the last couple of items. While this is frustrating, I am trying to keep the end picture in mind and remind myself of the great asset we will have for years to come.
On Sunday this weekend, between 11am and 1pm, we have the Shelly Park Craft Fair. This would be a great opportunity for all families to come down to the school to see our budding entrepreneurs in action. If you're a new family to the school come and meet some other families and members of the PTA. The students are really excited to show off their creations.
Amanda Kirby from Room 17 competed in the Counties Manukau Rhythmic Gymnastics competition on Sunday. She placed first in Free-hand, fifth in Ball and second place overall. Congratulations Amanda.
A reminder that Scholastic Book Club, Issues 4, closes on Thursday 23rd of June.

Yummy Stickers
Shelly Park has again registered to collect the Yummy Apple stickers. These stickers are converted into a winning share
of the $200,000 sports prize pool from DG Sport. All you have to do is purchase ‘Yummy’ branded apples, save the
stickers or cut out labels, place them on a sticker collection sheet and return them to your classroom teacher. The apples
can be purchased from New World, Pak n Save and participating Four Square stores.
The Yummy Apple Sticker Promotion officially runs for Terms 2 and 3, however if you have been collecting since last year,
these stickers still count too. If you need more Sticker Collection Sheets or Cut out label collection sheets they will be
available at the Office or with your classroom teacher. Please return all completed Collection sheets to your classroom
teacher or hold onto these sheets until the end of Term 3 for collection - we will let you know!
