Elizabeth Ide Elementary School
A Message from your Principal, Mrs. Katie Johnson
The sunshine is streaming in, and the energy in our classrooms is electric! Just like the beautiful spring weather, excitement for summer break is definitely starting to buzz. Before we know it, the final school bell will be ringing!
Don't worry, though, because these last few weeks promise to be anything but ordinary. We have a fantastic lineup of events planned to celebrate your child's hard work and achievements. Be sure you have marked your calendars for The Night with the PRIDE and grade-level field trips.
Remember, while summer fun is on the horizon, these final weeks are crucial for continued learning and growth. By working together, we can ensure a productive and fulfilling finish to the school year. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support in making this a successful year for all our students.
Thank you,
Katie Johnson
Principal

Here's how you can help:

- Groups can choose to clean Lakeview, Prairieview, or Elizabeth Ide grounds.
- No pre-registration needed - just show up and lend a hand!
Let's work together to beautify and sustain our cherished school grounds!
The Night with the PRIDE
This year, we're transforming our traditional events (VIP day and Open House) into a brand new celebration: The Night with the PRIDE! Join Elizabeth Ide on Thursday, May 2nd for an evening showcasing the amazing things happening at our school. Come anytime between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to fit your family's needs.
- Embark on a Scavenger Hunt specific to each grade level, designed just for you, filled with fun finds around the school.
- Discover Your STEM Superpowers in the LRC where you'll find activities that will make you laugh and learn about science, technology, engineering, and math!
- Unleash your creativity in the art room and create a masterpiece that represents you and your family.
- Scholastic Book Fair: Stock up on exciting reads at the PTO-sponsored Scholastic Book Fair.
- Capture the Memories: Create lasting moments with photo opportunities throughout the evening.
- Food Trucks on Site: Refuel and socialize with fellow Lion families at the food trucks. We are trying to get an interest level for each item so each Food Truck has enough food to support our event. Please sign up below if you are interested. YOU WILL PAY AT THE TRUCK ON 5/2.
We hope to see you there!
Progress Reports
Progress reports will come home today with students who are not meeting grade level expectations. If you do not receive a progress report for your child, and would like to discuss your child's growth/progress, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher directly. Open communication between home and school is essential in supporting students' academic progress, and the teacher will be more than happy to provide the necessary information and support. We are committed to working closely with families to ensure that every student's needs are addressed, and your proactive involvement is invaluable in this process.

April & May Events at IDE
Attendance
Please remember to either call the attendance line (630-783-5199). If you are unable to do so and email the classroom teacher, please also include Ms. Sorn in the email about any absences. This will avoid getting a call from the office and it helps if there are substitutes in a class.
It is also important to include Ms. Sorn in any transportation changes.
Technology Support
CCSD66 has replaced our old helpdesk system, SchoolDude, and want to make sure you're aware of how to get tech support! Please use the updated link below if you need support from our CCSD66 Technology Department.
If you submitted a ticket in SchoolDude and have not received a response, please submit it again using the new system. We want to make sure nothing is dropped. Have a great day!
