Blurb:The determination Clarissa has shown during distant learning is amazing. She has demonstrated being a student that uses all of her RIGHT values. She continues to work hard in all of her classes and is not afraid to ask questions! All of her work is submitted with exemplar effort showing that she does her best at all times. This scholar has set a high bar of determination for her advisory and all of 5th grade. Keep it up Clarissa!

Reminder About MS Classes
Did your child outgrow their Compass Rose uniform from last year?
Compass Rose is accepting gently-used and clean, uniform items to share with families in need or for wardrobe emergencies throughout the school year. If you have any of the items below that you no longer need, please drop them off at the Compass Rose Legacy front office at 8005 Outer Circle Rd, San Antonio, TX 78235. M-F 8-4pm.
Accepting clean and gently-used:
-Blue uniform polos with CR logo
-Khaki bottoms, pants, shorts, skirts, etc. (all sizes welcome as we will now have elementary students)
-Compass Rose jackets
-Belts

Legacy Middle School Grade Level Notes

6th grade notes
1. Starting this week, 6th-grade teachers sent out Google Calendar invitations to scholars to attend Academic Block sessions for ELA and Math classes. These small group sessions are from 1:15-2:15 pm Monday through Friday until September 25th. If students did not receive an invitation, they are expected to work on IXL during this time. Information was sent via Google Calendar to all scholars. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Lopez at flopez@compassroseschools.org or by telephone at 512.887.2458.
2. Next week on September 16th and 17th, our scholars will be taking their Bi-Weekly Assessments for ELA and Science classes. Please reach out to Ms. Avina (ELA) or Mr. Lopez (Science) with any questions. Your scholars will be provided with a study guide to prepare for their exams.
3. On Thursday, September 17th from 6-7 pm, the 6th-grade team will be hosting their first Town Hall of the semester! Please join us for grade-level updates and information from your child's teachers. Please see below for a revised HS list if your child is participating in virtual learning.
- Required for in-person or virtual learners:
- No. 2 Pencils or No. 2 Mechanical Pencils [10-20]
- Blue or Black Pens [10-20]
- Highlighters [3-5]
- Notebook paper (wide rule)
- Composition notebooks [3] (college rule)
- Required for in-person learners in addition to the above:
- Face masks [if attending in-school learning] (1-2)
- Cloth or medical face masks
- Cannot contain or display inappropriate messaging
- Bandanas not allowed
- Notebook binders
- 2 1.5 inch ring bindersWipes
- Two notebook divider sets or at least 10 sections
- Optional for in-person learners
- Tissues
- Personal hand sanitizer
Grades 5-7 School Supply List
- Middle School Supply List for Grades 5-7 - All items will be kept by the student
- If your child will be going into 5th – 7th grades, these are the basic supplies we are asking families to purchase before the start of school on August 17th. Please note that we are asking families to purchase a fair amount of pencils and pens as students will not be allowed to share pens and pencils if we are holding school in-person. Whether we hold school in person or not, students will need or utilized these supplies to a degree via virtual learning.

- 5 spiral notebooks to go into binder or 5 composition notebooks to go into pockets of dividers.
- Clear water bottle( if you would like your child to have a water bottle it must be clear)

- Optional, but encouraged personal items to be given to the school :

Uniform Reminder
The School Yard has uniform polo shirts available for Compass Rose Legacy & Ingenuity students. All students, whether they are engaging in online or distance learning are expected to wear and have a Compass Rose Legacy polo.
With safety being our top priority, we encourage you to purchase uniform items online and schedule a curbside pickup.
