Exciting News Regarding Industry Certification
Teachers, counselors and on-site administrators are now able to view critical industry certification student data from a single report found on Data Warehouse. By retrieving the “Comprehensive” industry certification report, school-site personnel will have access to all students who are currently enrolled in a course where industry certification can be earned and their current industry certification status. This report will quickly allow staff to identify students who should be working on earning an industry certification, will display certifications already earned by students, the school in which the certification was earned, and any components a student has earned towards an industry certification.
- To access the Comprehensive Report, log into Data Warehouse
- Navigate to “My Links / Help” (on top of the page) and click on “Industry Certification Reports”
- On the black navigation bar, click on “Reports,” “Components Reports”
- Then click “Comprehensive” in the blue text to view or export the report

Counseling Corner and Social Emotional Learning
District SEL Theme for February: Social Awareness
Social awareness is the ability to understand the perspectives of, and empathize with others, including those from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and contexts. This includes the capacity to feel compassion for others, understand social norms for behavior in different settings, recognize strengths in others, show concern for the feelings of others, and understand and express gratitude.
A key component of social awareness is the ability to show kindness. During Random Acts of Kindness Week, and throughout the month, consider encouraging your on campus and virtual students to make the world a better place by performing kindness acts such as:
- Waving or smiling at others
- Saying “good morning” to 10 people
- Holding the door open for someone
- Socializing with someone new
- Sincerely complimenting 5 people
- Saying “thank you” to the bus driver/crossing guard/cafeteria staff/plant operator/parent
- Helping a younger student/sibling/neighbor
- Picking up trash outside your school or neighborhood
“Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give.” - Unknown

Whether you are teaching young children that are learning to read, students with hearing impairments, or those that are acquiring the English language, a powerful new tool in PowerPoint can help support their needs. PowerPoint now includes a feature called subtitles. Utilizing a microphone on your computer, you simply speak and PPT adds your words in written text. Select a foreign language and it will translate it too. Simple and powerful!
