News from Mrs. Morrow
In science, we wrapped up our Energy Unit and have begun studying plants and the environment. This is a super fun unit! My hope is to have the students contribute to our school's garden by planting some vegetables, herbs, or other flowering plants.
Because we are at the end of the year, it is now crunch time! Students should be at school every day and be on time. We are covering a lot of curriculum and students need to be very focused during academic times. I will have very little tolerance for inappropriate behavior and lack of work ethic. Please, reinforce this with your child.
News from Mr. Dolfi
As we get closer to End of Grade test time, June 2 &3, we are working on lots of reading strategies in class. As the students should already know, 1/3 of the ELA EOG will have questions that are vocabulary based, which is a lot! We have been working hard to pick apart words and their meaning, and use strategies that will help a lot during test time. You may be wondering, how can I help my child improve their vocabulary skills? Great question! Hopefully you already know that we have weekly word study lists and practicing those words with your child will not only help them on weekly quizzes, but it will also help them come test time. If you would like a list of ways that students can practice vocabulary at home and ways that you can help, follow this link. Be on the lookout as we get closer to test time for other ways to help your child be successful on the test.
