It looks like I'm playing, but...
Dramatic Play – It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing social skills, emotional skills, independence, oral language, my imagination, responsibility, and the executive function.
Blocks - It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing motor skills, math concepts (number, size, shape, space), oral language, social skills. eye-hand coordination, self control, and my imagination.
Art – It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing my creativity, small motor skills, problem solving, sharing, cooperation, independence and responsibility.
Math - It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing oral language, social skills, small motor skills, concepts about quantity, shape, size, pattern, and an interest in math.
Library - It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing alphabet knowledge, oral language, print knowledge, listening skills, eye-hand coordination, concepts about the world, and the desire to read.
Science - It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing a curiosity about the world, sensory skills, problem solving, language skills, and experience with the scientific process (observing, predicting, experimenting, recording, reporting).
Table Toys - It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing small muscles, eye-hand coordination, attention span, social skills, and concepts about size, shape, color pattern.
Language – It looks like I’m playing, but I’m developing oral language, alphabet knowledge, print connections, phonological awareness, visual skills, book knowledge, phonics; motivation to read. No matter what I become when I grow up, it will be important to know how to read.

Grymes Summer Camps
Did you know that our summer camp program was named "Best of Virginia" by Virginia Living Magazine? Registration for Camp Grymes is now open! This year we're offering four incredible week-long sessions in July with themes that will spark adventure and discovery on campus and beyond, and afternoon trips to the Orange Country Town Pool will add even more fun in the sun! Note that camps are open to rising Kindergartners through rising Fifth Graders. The flat weekly fee is discounted for multiple weeks and siblings and camp fees are tax-deductible!

Partner Day - Wednesday, May 4, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
This will be a dress down day.
We will be tidying up the grounds of the school with our partner class in preparation for Grand Friends' Day.
Please pack a lunch for your child (unless they get Food Fest that day) as we will eat lunch with our partners.
Noon friends, please plan on a 1:00 pm pick-up. Please email me to confirm, Noon friends. Thank you.
