DC Staff Update
19 April 2015
I'm grateful this week for...
Primary Athletics Day - great participation, events, organisation and weather. As per usual, Year 1 students had more parents and grandparents than actual children, the house spirit was amazing, everyone competed brilliantly... Huge thanks to Lawrence, Damian and Gary for all the hard work putting the day together, and to all the staff who did such a great job of running the events.
Secondary 3-Way Conferences - what little feedback I've had from parents has been very positive. Thank you to everyone for your assistance with this, including your perserverence in having to cope with some glitches in the Gateway booking system.

Staffing Update
I'm happy to announce another two appointments for the next academic year:
Kathy La Brooy - Head of Drama. Kathy is an experienced IB and international teacher, currently teaching at Danube International School in Vienna, Austria. Prior to that Kathy has taught in the UK, Singapore and Australia, where she has held Head of Department roles.
Claire Neale - MYP English. Claire is a DC mum who most of you will know from the supply teaching she has done for us on a regular basis. Claire's position is for the 2015-16 academic year in order to cover Kirsty de Wilde, who will be our acting MYP Coordinator while Adrian is on leave.

DC Twitter
For those of you who haven't seen it, we now have a Twitter feed running off the home page of the DC web site. It is still very early days for getting this going, however, please contact Michelle if you have any events that you think would be useful to celebrate in this way.
Jazz Concert
Those staff who made it to the Jazz performance in the Theatre last night were treated to an amazing evening of music with some exceptional students performances. Congratulations to all the students and a special thanks to Dionne for her hard work in making this event so successful.
This week
Please wish our Year 13 students the very best as this is their last formal week of school before their Diploma exams.
Have you remembered that Friday next week (1 May) is Labour Day here in HK and therefore a public holiday?
