Important Reminders:
- Conduct Cards - "Husky Habits" conduct cards should be in their binders every day. This is our way to communicate with you on a daily basis if there is a work habit or behavior incident. If they get a mark, please sign it so we know that you have seen it. Just a reminder, 5 or more marks within a term (9 weeks) is a lunch detention.
- Reading Homework- Students should be reading at least 30 minutes at least 4 nights per week.
- Binders: Students will carry binders to each rotation each day. Please help your student stay organized. They will also bring home their binder nightly. Unfinished work that needs to be completed for homework. Please check for homework. Their Husky Habits is in a plastic sleeve in their binder. Students will only need to have this signed by a parent if they get a mark by the teachers.
- Snack time: We will be eating a snack each day. Please ensure that students are bringing something healthy, nut free, and not too messy to hold them over until our lunch, which is at 12:10pm.
- Water bottles: Make sure students have a water bottle each day with their name on it. They will be taking this with them to specials, recess, and lunch.
- Sweater/Sweatshirt/Jacket: You may want to send a light sweater or sweatshirt with your child each day, the temperature in our classroom fluctuates.
- Earbuds/Headphones: Students will use earbuds or headphones when using the Chromebooks.
What we are learning:
Grade Level Math: Students will deepen their understanding and build upon current level of mastery of 5th grade standards. They will apply knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division to numerical expressions & multi-step contextual situations.
Compacted Math: Students will deepen their understanding and build upon current level of mastery of 5th grade standards. They will apply knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division to numerical expressions & multi-step contextual situations.
Science: We will begin reviewing all things that we have learned this year in science. The study of elementary science includes planning and safely implementing classroom and outdoor investigations using scientific processes, including inquiry methods, analyzing information, making informed decisions, and using tools to collect and record information, while addressing the major concepts and vocabulary, in the context of physical, earth, and life science.
Social Studies: We will be able to identify, describe, explain, and analyze major events in the 20th century including: Industrialization & Immigration, World War I, Great Depression, World War II, Civil Rights Movement, and explain scientific discoveries & technological advancements.

- Navigate to: workspace.google.com/dashboard
- Student will log-in with their Rockwall ISD Google username and password
- Be sure to include the @stu.rockwallisd.org as part of your username
- Ex. borykkar000@stu.rockwallisd.org
- the first part before the @stu.rockwallisd.org is what they type to log into their Chromebook at school and their passwords will be the same as what they log in with every day on the school Chromebook.
