Teaching Staff Announcements
Incoming Kinder. We are keeping a close watch on the numbers and will have a better idea of the number of students we will have in the Kinder class as families begin to register. Registration begins online on June 6th.
Amy Pierce will be re-joining the MWE Staff. Amy was transferred to Thornwood Elementary at the beginning of the 16-17 school year. Amy will teach 1st grade.
Nurse Debbi Rossi is retiring, but is planning to come back to work at MWE next year in a job share, where she will work half time and another nurse will work half time. She did not want a retirement celebration, since her plan right now is to return to MWE in the fall.
Dear Pam,
This letter is my official notification to you that my last day of work at Meadow Wood Elementary will be June 2, 2017. On that day I plan to retire, but as we've discussed, I hope that I will be able to return to MWE in a job share position in the next school year.
I'm excited about moving to the next phase of my life , but wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of me, the MWE clinic and all that you've done to encourage and foster health related activities for the MWE students.
My 17 years at Meadow Wood have been the most gratifying work experience of my nursing career. I will truly miss the students and all of my coworkers at MWE. I have so many wonderful memories of my time here and feel so fortunate to have had so many opportunities for personal and professional growth over the years.
I have truly loved my time at Meadow Wood Elementary .
Sincerely,
Deborah P. Rossi

From the Clinic
When planning for the 2017-2018 school year, please remember that all prescription medication must be renewed by your physician each school year in order to be dispensed in the clinic. The SBISD forms are available in the clinic or can be downloaded from the SBISD/Health web site.
During the summer please check your child's hair periodically for lice and especially the week before school starts. If you find live lice and/or nits (eggs), treatments are available at your pharmacy, grocery store or physician.
Have a safe and fun summer!
Nurse RossiNo Place for Hate®
The No Place for Hate® initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum. No Place for Hate® also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.
Launched in schools in 2001, the popular initiative has been embraced by hundreds of campuses throughout the Southwest region, including many in the Houston, San Antonio/Central Texas and El Paso areas. ADL is grateful to the H-E-B Tournament of Champions for the generous underwriting of the No Place for Hate® initiative.
We will add the 16-17 sticker to our banner currently hanging in the school cafeteria.
