Principal Message
Good Afternoon, Panther Families
As we get set to start our next week, I just wanted to share a few reminders with you all. Remember that on Tuesday we wrap up our last round of STAAR testing with our 3/4/5th grade students. This is a closed campus testing day, so unfortunately no deliveries or visitors are allowed on campus while we conclude STAAR this year.
On Wednesday, we have WILD ABOUT READING, so remember students may wear their animal print if they choose.
Parents, this Friday, please do not be alarmed as we are holding our Zapatos Distribution event. We are receiving a visit from community partners that serve our city and you will notice quite a number of police vehicles as they volunteer on campus. Zapatos holds a shoe drive and collects and distributes shoes to children in need, and public service workers assist these students with trying on their new pair of shoes. We are looking forward to hosting these very special guests!
Also on Friday, we are having our PTA Spring Festival from 5-7pm with food and booths as we wrap up Fiesta! Please join us for this event along with our teachers and share in this great experience!
On behalf of our Passmore family to yours, thank you for your continued support in all we do, and hope to see you Friday evening!
-Mr. Dominguez
Closed Campus
We have finished our second round of STAAR (state) testing! We had 100% completion for our reading test AND our 5th grade Science test, hooray! Thank you parents for getting your students here Tuesday, so we could complete the test! As a reminder, we will be a closed campus to visitors and volunteers on the following days:
Tuesday, April 30th
It's Time to Register for NEXT SCHOOL YEAR
Can you believe it is already time to get your kid(s) registered for next school. While PreK registration for any new students will open on Monday, April 1st, all returning students can begin registering now. Please follow the steps you received in the email you see below:
We are very honored to be working with your child in NISD this year! In preparing for the 2024-25 school year, NISD student information for all currently enrolled school students. It is important that we verify all information by June 1, 2024 to ensure that your child has a space at their current or home campus. If a Data Verification form is submitted after June 1, 2024, it is possible that your child could be sent to another campus if classes become full. During this time, your child’s registration takes priority.
Please note that THE HAC ACCOUNT ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL is the only one that has access to complete this process.
Here’s how to begin:
Go to the NISD Home Access Center (HAC) website https://hac.nisd.net/
Follow the steps below:
If you already have a HAC account:
1) Your LOGIN is the email address to which the message was sent.
2) Your PASSWORD is the same HAC password that you have previously used.
3) After logging in, click on the REGISTRATION tab.
4) Click on Update Enrollment tab
5) Click START
6) The first time you log in you will be asked to certify that you are over 13 years old. You will then enter your student’s birthday to validate the registration account.
7) You will be asked if the student is returning to NISD for the 2024-25 school year. If your child will be returning to ANY NISD school next year, select YES. If your child will NOT be returning to ANY NISD school, select NO and follow the question prompt.
8) Click NEXT.
9) Review your child’s information and update as needed. Click SUBMIT to complete the registration process for your child.
10) If you have multiple elementary students, click on the CHANGE STUDENT icon on the far right of your student’s name in HAC, select another student and follow the same steps above. Review data and complete the registration process for each student.
If you have any trouble accessing HAC or you do not see one of your children, please contact the school office and ask to speak with the Attendance Secretary as they may be able to assist you with this process. If the campus is not able to resolve your issue, please complete the form using the link below and District staff can reset your password or link students in a family if necessary.
Once again, we want to stress the importance of verifying your student's information by June 1, 2024.
We appreciate your attention to this important matter and thank you for taking the time to register your child in Northside.

NEW LAW IN EFFECT!
NEW LAW IN EFFECT
The Texas Legislature recently enacted HB 114 requiring all school districts to implement mandatory disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) placement for students found in possession of, using, selling, giving, or delivering e-cigarettes or vaping devices on school grounds or at a school-related event. This alternative school placement, required by law, is made regardless of whether the substance being vaped is a controlled substance or not. We ask that you discuss this new state law with your child(ren).
