COVID-19 Notification Letter
Dear Scarborough High School Families and Staff,
This letter is to inform you that since our last communication yesterday, 3 additional people from Scarborough High School have been confirmed positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total at the school to 6 cases in 2 days. Our nursing staff and building administrators, working in close communication with the Maine CDC to ensure all protocols are being followed. All close contacts from school exposure are being contacted. We are informing you now in an effort of complete transparency. We would continue to caution all families and staff to follow CDC requirements and take precautions as necessary, in an effort to assist us in slowing the community spread at this time.
In the past two days over 100 people at the high school have been placed into quarantine. We cannot reiterate enough the need for everyone to continue to follow the CDC requirements, whether at school or in the larger community. We would also strongly advise everyone to pay attention to potential COVID symptoms listed below, and please make sure you make contact with the school immediately if your child tests positive.
Signs and symptoms may include:
• fever or chills • cough
• shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • fatigue
• muscle or body aches • headache
• new loss of taste or smell • sore throat
• congestion or runny nose • nausea or vomiting or diarrhea
