Student Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year
- New student registration is already begun for K-12th graders. If you have a new neighbor or know someone who will be attending a NISD school, please share that they can register online at https://www.nisd.net/schools/registration.
- Pre-K registration begins on Monday, April 1st. Nichols has had our Kinder Round Up but will be hosting an Open House for prospective Pre Kindergartners on Tuesday, April 2nd from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Please let your neighbors know that who may have a child that will be four by September 1st. Our PK program is a full day. It is a qualifying program which means a student must fall into one or more of this categories: military, second language learner (requires testing), economically disadvantaged, or foster child.
- Students that do qualify for Pre-K will be attending Northwest Crossing Elementary for the 24-25 school year. Nichols will not have a PK class on campus next year.
- Students who are currently enrolled will only need Data Validation completed. Data Validation began on Monday, March 18th. It is important that Data Validation is completed on each student in HAC (Home Access Center) as soon as possible. This should be done whether you will be returning or not. Staff allocations are made based off of the number of students who are anticipated to return.

Monday, April 8th is a Total Solar Eclipse
- Partial Eclipse begins at 12:14 p.m.
- Totality (complete black out) is from 1:33 - 1:36 p.m.
- Partial Eclipse ends at 2:55 p.m.
- Students will be participating in a Watch Party from 1:15 - 1:45.
- Students will wear protective during the eclipse. The only time students will not wear their glasses is during "totality" because it will be very dark. (3 minutes)
- The entire school will be outside so there will be no phones answered in the office or students called out of class.
- For San Antonians, this is a once in a lifetime chance to participate in a Total Eclipse. The next one that we would be able to see won't be for another 300 years.
- All students and staff will be wearing protective eyewear during the partial eclipse and will remove them for the total eclipse (roughly 3 minutes) and then proceed to wear them for the partial (until going into the building).
- We will have a limited number of additional protective glasses for guests -- parents are welcome but must arrive prior to 1:15 before the office closes. Identification must be shown in order to attend the event.
- Students will be participating in stations during an extended Discovery Time schedule.
- If you do not wish for your child to participate in the outdoor event, you will need to email/message the teacher by Friday, April 5th.
- Our theme will be "Black Out" so everyone is encouraged to wear black.
