Book Buddies
Literacy
In reading we continue to work on nonfiction reading. Locating the main idea and details will be the primary focus.
Writing
Students have selected one topic that they consider themselves "experts". We are creating a nonfiction book on this topic. The book will include different types of nonfiction text structures. This project will take several weeks to complete.
Math
In math this week we worked hard on multiple step problems that could involving adding, subtracting and even multiplying and dividing. Try to make up number stories at home, while shopping, or while driving in the car.
Here is an example:
Mrs. McDaniel buys 2 packs of cookies to share with a friend equally. Each pack contains 4 cookies. Mrs. McDaniel eats one cookie. How many will she have left?
Keep practicing those fact cards at home each night.
