School Dismissal Manager
School Dismissal Manager
Hello Parents!
WALLACE GREGG ELEMENTARY will begin utilizing a new on-line dismissal management system on NOVEMBER 4th called School Dismissal Manager (SDM). It is dependable, easy-to-use, and can be updated by parents and guardians from the convenience of their smart phones, tablets, and PCs.
Through the on-line dismissal management system, you can:
Report student absences and late arrivals
Schedule early dismissals from school
Make transportation changes as late as 1:30 PM on the current day
… and so much more!
We will begin using SDM for dismissal on NOVEMBER 4th. Before we change to this system, we will provide you with additional information and an email will be sent to you directly from SDM. You should be receiving information this week. The email from SDM will contain important instructions and your personal login credentials. Once you receive your credentials, please use them to log into the new system so that you can begin to familiarize yourself with it and set up your child’s dismissal and routine.
Until NOVEMBER 4th please continue to report transportation changes by sending a note in with your child.
If you do not receive your email by Wednesday October 28, please call the school office and speak with Mrs Nettles or Mrs Briggs. Thank you for your continued support of Wallace Gregg Elementary!

i-Ready Diagnostic
i-Ready Diagnostic:
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning.
The diagnostic is being given as another tool to gauge students' academic performance level. Based on this assessment and Fall STAR results, some students will be selected to receive personalized computerized instruction on the i-Ready program.
i-Ready Personalized Instruction:
i-Ready Personalized Instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so students can learn at a pace that is just right for them. These lessons are fun and interactive to keep students engaged as they learn.
Teachers will receive training in how to analyze the results from the diagnostic on November 24, 2020. Select students will begin working in i-Ready on November 30, 2020. Parents will be notified, if their student is selected.
