Revolution
2.Dr. Sun Yatsen was the leader of the nationalist party.
3.The revolution plunged the government into anarchy and economic disintegration. The revolution did not establish a stable government.
4. After the Great War, nationalist sentiment developed rapidly in China The Chinese looked for models and ideals for the reform of China .The Peace Conference of 1919 established a network of foreign control in China.
Nationalism
1. Because youths and intellectuals looked up to the U.S as models and ideals for the reform of China.
2. Japan wanted to gain more land and they wanted to get rid of China's communism.
3. It was spread headed by students and intellectuals in Chinas urban areas, the movement galvanized the country, and all classes of Chinese protested against foreign, especially Japanese, interference.
4. The "Chinese Communist Party" was formed in 1921 and they viewed the Soviet Union as a good country because they believed Marxism was the cure for Chinese problems.
Chinese Civil War
2. Communist revolution was still threatening to the new government in China throughout the 1930s. Also the Guomindang faced major Japanese aggression and conflict. The new Chinese government t also had problems with the fact that parts of China were still owned by warlords.
3 Mao Zedong saw potential for peasants to rebel against the government and gain communist support. He relied on his army of peasants to potentially overthrow the new government and sort of stray from Marxism.
4The relationship between the Chinese Communist Party and the peasants was important to Mao Zedong because it made him the leader and principal theoretician of the Chinese communist movement.
