Principal's Weekly Newsletter
WE ARE HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
~ September 28th, 2020 ~
Letter from the Principal
How quickly times flies! Here we are closing out the month of September and welcoming the month of October! With October comes Homecoming week 2020! The spirit dress themes and guidelines are posted below. We encourage all our students to join in the fun and make this Homecoming Week memorable. Hobby Lobby has confirmed it has the colors for Holy Trinity Mums, and that probably means Michael's does too. So go out and get to crafting and show off your mums for Homecoming!
Thank you to everyone for continuing to support our "Masks On" policy. It may just be the ticket to keeping our school open for face-to-face attendance the whole of this quarter, if not the whole First Semester! And it's also our ticket to welcoming back more students to attend daily, and may allow us to extend this to all our students much sooner than we could've hoped. So continue to work with us and we may be back to "normal" really soon.
NB: Parents, please continue to ensure your students and your households are wearing their masks when outside of school and on weekends and are abiding by social distancing guidelines wherever they go. There's news of a second wave out there - let's not invite that wave to crash on our school.

VIRTUE OF THE WEEK: GRATITUDE
The virtue of Gratitude is aligned with the Cardinal virtue of Justice.
Thankful disposition of mind and heart
GRATITUDE LOOKS LIKE:
- Smiling when someone helps you
- The Blessed Mother singing the Magnificat
- Receiving a gift with a smile
- Appreciating friends
- Praying after you receive Jesus in Holy Communion
GRATITUDE SOUNDS LIKE:
- Thanking those who provide for you.
- The Almighty has done great things for me!
- Thank you for thinking of me.
- Thank you for being my friend.
- Silence. Thank you, Jesus, for coming into my heart.

~ Last week at a glance ~
These are some of the things that took place this past week:
- Volleyball won their at-Home games and showed how solidly they work together.
- Cross Country came out strong for their meet at Heritage Park and are on their way to placing at State.
- Cheer held their first Pep Rally and let us see their skilled routines ahead of the FB Game.
- Football played their first Home game and absolutely rocked it, winning 48-0. Way to start the season!
Forensics: the Celtic debaters got off to a good start on Sat., Sept. 19, winning six awards at the 14th Annual Hurricane Debate Tournament, hosted online by Holy Trinity. Eleven schools, including three from Pennsylvania, competed. See below for a list of awards received.
Student Council - this year's officers were voted in and StuCo got right to work planning Homecoming. Look for ballots to vote for the Homecoming Court - Blue votes on Tuesday and Gold votes on Wednesday. Who will be the 2020 Homecoming King and Queen?..
Spirit Squad got to work too cranking out posters for our games and for Homecoming. It looks like school again!
SAT - the Seniors all came in to take the SAT in the Kasberg Center. How great to see them all!
Blue Day Mass at HT
Fr. Fred Gerhart, the Vocations Director for the Diocese of Austin, came to celebrate our Blue Mass and inspired the students with a better understanding of how a vocation is discerned and how to hear, and respond to, the call to a vocation.
SAT for the Seniors
Gold Day Mass at HT
Because our Seniors were in the KC taking the SAT exam, we were able to seize on our reduced numbers and celebrate Mass in the Chapel for the first time since before Spring Break. Fr. John was our Celebrant and spoke about the suffering, like Padre Pio's (who's feastday it was) that is part and parcel with the amazing gifts Christ gives to those who heed the call to follow.
Adoration at HT.
Athletics at HT this week - We are F.A.M.i.L.Y.
VOLLEYBALL
Volleyball Head Coach Brandi Jageler (Varsity) and Assistant Coach Jane Boone (JV) are leading the Lady Celtics into each game with demonstrated skill and strength conditioning. The teams' return to the HT gym made that very clear. We look forward to an exciting season!
CROSS COUNTRY
Left to Right: Back: Nathan O. (C'22), Joseph J. (C'24), Carisa T. (C'21), Jane B. (C'24), Sarah G. (C'23), Sadie C. (C'23), Bruce R. (C'23),

A Message from Ms. Snyder: Senior Off-Campus ministry begins this week
The Senior students begin to serve off-campus during their Christian Leadership class starting this week! I've been working to find various sites in our community where the Seniors can participate in community service while still practicing safe social distancing etc. Students will travel off-site to the following service sites on the day that they are on-campus for their Christian Leadership class:
Mondays: 2:30pm - 3:30pm
- Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church
Tuesdays: 11:05am - 12:00noon
- Feed My Sheep
- St. Vincent de Paul
Wednesdays: 2:40pm - 3:30 pm
- St. Luke's Catholic Church
Thursdays: 10:35am - 11:35am
- Feed My Sheep
- St. Vincent de Paul
- Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church
- Christ the King Catholic Church
Students will abide by all COVID protocols that each service site has put into place and will maintain social distancing protocols, safe hygiene protocols, and mask-wearing protocols during their service and while traveling to and from each site.
I'm very excited that our Senior students are finally able to return to this long-held HT tradition of participating in regular community service! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Christ's Peace,
Ms. Snyder
