Lincoln Street News
December 2020
Message From The Principal
Thank you to all our families who were able to attend their parent/teacher conferences. Please reach out to your teachers if you were not able to attend. We want to make sure we build strong partnerships with each of our families to better support you and your students during distance learning.
Here is a summary of the main focus areas we are working on at Lincoln Street this school year:
Math- All students will make at least a year progress in their grade level benchmark skills and fluencies
Writing- All students will demonstrate growth in a full write performance task
Attendance- Students participation in live sessions will increase by 10%
Equity- Teachers will use Culturally-Relevant Teaching Strategies to increase student engagement and participation by 10% with a focus on our minoritized students
We are planning grade level curriculum nights during January where we will share additional information about school-wide goals and continue working towards strengthening our great community. We will share more specific information about this event soon.
I also want to emphasize the importance of consistent daily attendance during live instruction. There is a direct correlation between student achievement and regular attendance, therefore it is crucial for students to log in and participate daily in their live sessions. Without this daily dose of academic learning, our students face a great risk of falling behind in their academic progress. Thank you for your continued support with attendance. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your teacher if you need any assistance in this area.
Have a wonderful and safe month of December.
