Oakland Writing Project
Invitational Summer Institute
For thirty-seven years, the Oakland Writing Project (OWP) has created powerful professional learning opportunities for PreK-16 teachers. Multiple highly acclaimed, statewide literacy initiatives trace their inception and success to the involvement of OWP Teacher-Consultants.
This opportunity is presented by an affiliate of the National Writing Project and a partnership between Oakland Schools and the University of Michigan-Flint (UM-Flint). Teachers who participate claim their teaching lives are never the same again!
Would you or someone you know like to join a community of teachers who will focus on writing and learning - their own and their students’ - for an intense and rewarding two weeks this summer? Would you like to develop leadership for yourself, your district and beyond? Do you wish that exemplary literacy practices would spread across buildings and that a common language for outstanding literacy teaching and learning would be used across grade levels?
Then please apply for the Oakland Writing Project Invitational Summer Institute. And ask your friends to apply, too! We encourage applications from all disciplines.
