E-LEARNING MONDAY - APRIL 8
Teachers will post e-learning assignments in their Google Classroom for students by 8:00am. Some students may have additional paper materials sent home as well. This is NOT the same as our virtual learning days. Students may work on their assignments at their pace but should complete them on Monday.

Solar Eclipse Safety
Excited for the eclipse? Here's how to keep your kids safe! During a solar eclipse, the sun is still incredibly bright, even when partially covered. Looking directly at it, even for a moment, can damage your child's eyes. To view the eclipse safely, get special solar eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer with the ISO 12312-2 international safety standard. Regular sunglasses won't protect their eyes. Make sure any eclipse gear you get is undamaged – any scratches or tears can compromise safety. Supervision is key, so be sure you're there to help them use the viewer properly. With a little planning, you and your kids can enjoy this amazing celestial event!
Below is a link where students can see what the eclipse will look like here and exact times it occurs.

From the Nurse
Attention 5th grade Parents
Fifth grade students will need to have Tdap & meningitis immunizations going into 6th grade, if they have not already done so. Please start scheduling appointments now. If you have questions, please contact your child's doctor or the school nurse.
Attendance (765) 689-9131
Parents or guardians must call the school attendance line when their child is absent. Call 765-689-9131 and wait to hear Maconaquah Elementary School and then attendance. Contacting the teacher is not the same as reporting it to the attendance line in the front office. When you call the attendance line to report a student's absence, please include why the child is absent, or it will be marked as unexcused. If a child is absent for a medical appointment, it is necessary to bring a doctor's note for the absence to be excused.

Braves of the Week
2nd Grade: Kowen Morgan
Kowen has worked extremely hard over the last couple of weeks to improve in all academic areas. So much so that he improved his Iread reading diagnostic by 60 points and went up in math by 30 points! Way to go, Kowen. Keep up the hard work!
3rd Grade: Harper Hyde
Harper is so deserving of Brave of the Week! She always has a smile on her face and is eager to help students and staff. She is also a rock-star student! This week, while taking the diagnostic, she has really been taking her time, and I'm so proud of her hard work. Her positive attitude and work ethic add so much to our class family. We are lucky to have her!
4th Grade: Rhythm Vorhees
Rythm was chosen for Brave of the Week because she has done an amazing job on her iReady Reading test! I am so proud of her for meeting and exceeding her goal on the third diagnostic. She is putting in the work, and it is showing each and every day! Great job, Rythm. I am so very proud of you and the great things you are doing! Keep setting your goals and working towards them because you can do anything when you set your mind to it!
5th Grade: Teresa Franke
Teresa has been an outstanding member of our class this year! She is sweet, attentive, and always willing to help out. Teresa almost always has a smile on her face, and it helps to put a smile on mine! She has grown so much this year, both academically and socially. I will miss her when she moves to middle school next year, but I know she's going to do great!
