Dear Viking Families,
Spring is here! The weather hasn’t shown us spring, however it is comforting to see the daffodils blooming on our school grounds. We are closing out third quarter next week on Tuesday, April 9th. This means the last quarter of the school year has come upon us. We hope that you will join us in encouraging your student to stay focused and committed to their academics as the school year comes to a close.
We are thrilled that graduation for our seniors has been announced - May 30, 2024 at 7pm. We are finalizing senior activities, events, and rehearsals to share with everyone in the near future. Our seniors have just announced this week their teacher of the year, Mr. Sankey. This is a coveted honor that is cherished by staff because it comes directly from our students. Congratulations to Mr. Sankey for the well deserved recognition!
We have celebrated many students and events throughout the month of March. Thank you to our incredibly talented students, parent volunteers, and community members who support all that takes place here at Mt. Hebron.
- Successful Mulch Sale by PTSA, with support of student and parent volunteers
- Incredible performances of Mamma Mia!
- Student Narrative Art Showcase, My Life My Story

Mount Hebron’s Euro Challenge Team wins to Compete in National Finals
On March 21, Mount Hebron’s Euro Challenge team defeated hundreds of other teams across the United States to place in the finals of the Euro Challenge in New York City.
The Euro Challenge is a competition on European economic and monetary policy that provides high school students the opportunity to learn about the euro, the single market, and other concepts central to the European Union and economics. The Euro Challenge is hosted annually by the EU Delegation to the United States.
The competition requires a group of five students to present a concise, but complex, overview of European monetary and fiscal policy surrounding a single task.
The Euro Challenge finals include an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City, cash prizes, and a VIP tour of European Embassies and NGOs, including the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

Congratulations Student Visionaries of the Year Participants!
Mt Hebron High School had three incredible teams take part in this year's Maryland campaign. Answer4Cancer, led by Anya Prasad, Tanisha Suri, and Taara Verma, with the support of team members, including Abigail Tsai, Amogh Pawar, Bryce Noggle, Harini Sethuraman, Ishi Sondhi, Neeki Sharifi, Nirav Gill, Sophia Chen, Sruthi Pillai, Josh Koshy, Brithi Settipalle, Fateha Syed, Preetham Muktha, Abhi Gone, Alex Hubbard, Ariana Peralta, Ellen Kingsley, Koti Mehta, Martin Ko, Pranav Boreddy, Rishi Kataria, Riya Rai, Spencer Bond, Sophia Davis, and Rachel Kadavil; Team Revive Lives, led by Leen Jawhar, Rithika Choutkuri, and Ruchir Bondada, with the support of team members, including Abhi Gone, Alex Hubbard, Ariana Peralta, Ellen Kingsley, Koti Mehta, Martin Ko, Pranav Boreddy, Rishi Kataria, Riya Rai, Spencer Bond, and Charlotte Lee; and Team Survivor, led by Amit Thakrar, Shaan Kalyani, and Siva Gotike, with the support of team members, including Sophia Davis and Safi Rahman. Candidates of these teams began planning and preparing for their teams’ campaigns long before the fundraising period began. They started by creating a team of likeminded visionaries – once shaped, the candidates mentored their dedicated team about key fundraising strategies, created goals, set plans of action, and demonstrated philanthropic passion through letters, emails, conversations, corporate pitches, social media, etc. The team’s goal was to create awareness about the life-saving research that LLS funds while giving their communities engaging ways to get involved. This professional and personal development journey set the stage for a hugely impactful 7-week fundraising campaign.
The final sums were added up at the Grand Finale Celebration. I am happy to share that Answer4Cancer raised more than $39,314, Team Revive Lives raised more than $26,143, and Team Survivor raised more and $23,318, for an incredible collective total of $88,777! This incredible success will allow for new treatments and further research for blood cancers. It's safe to say that the 2023 Class has set a high standard for future students. They also set an example on a national scale for this campaign.
