Updates & Reminders
- Moving and not returning next year? Please let the office know as soon as you know so we can accurately plan for classes and staffing next year!
- Fit for Bloomsday starts Tuesday March 19th. It will run 😁from 3-4 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Please only let your students in and out of the car on the curb side! We've had an increase in students getting out on the street side of the drop off lane. Visibility isn't great and it is unsafe for students and drivers.
- If you're ever struggling to get through to the office via phone lines, please remember you can email any of our wonderful office staff (Shelby McVay, Dewi Campbell, Carolina Johnson).
- Please remember to send your student with appropriate winter clothing, including gloves and/or hats. While it's been more mild during the day, it is still cold during morning line up!
- Want to volunteer? We're always looking for approved volunteers to run our end of week prize store for students have shown excellent DIGS behavior! If you're approved to volunteer, sign up here. If you haven't yet been approved, find more information here.
- Wondering when to keep your sick student home? Find information and recommendations at the district webpage here.
- Thank you for continuing to park in other spots in the lot rather than in our bus and Zum zones. We appreciate your attention to this!

STEAM Fair & 5th Grade Rollercoasters
Our annual STEAM Fair is this Tuesday March 19th at 6 pm. Come to see all the projects students have worked hard on, watch footage of the Egg Drop from earlier in the day, and explore some fun hands-on STEAM activities!
Also, all of our 5th graders will have their roller coaster projects on full display at this event. All three teachers will be there, and students will be showing how their roller coaster works! Be sure to come and check out their work.
Dismissal Plan Communication
If you have various dismissal plans with your students at the end of the day, please try to communicate these plans with your students and the school as early as you can - in the morning is best! We understand that things come up during the day and that your plan may need to change quickly. And the end of the day, especially from 2:30 - 3:00 the office is full of parents picking students up early, visitors and volunteers signing up, and phone calls from families changing how their child is going home. It's also a more challenging time to track students down and notify them/their teachers as they are often at afternoon recess, transitioning from a special at the end of the day, or doing some other activity that is not always in their classroom. It's a challenging, busy time and we do our best to make sure all students are notified of any changes to how they are getting home. And it is really helpful if families are able to make these plans before then!
Prairie Dog Dash - Opt Outs
PTG is starting to prepare for our annual Prairie Dog Dash in late spring. It's time for us to get a list of students (with parent emails) to build the donation website. If you would like to opt out from being a part of this list, please either email myself at katehe@spokaneschools.org, Shelby McVay at shelbym@spokaneschools.org, or grab an opt out form from the office.
You could also print and send in with your student! You can find the form here.
